Meco Meritus Cup: Krish Gupta Sweeps Senior Max Races To Take Championship Lead In Bengaluru
Bengaluru, India, May 25, 2026: Mumbai racer Krish Gupta produced a flawless performance to score a sensational double victory in the Senior Max category during Round 2 of the Meco Meritus Cup at the Meco Kartopia circuit in Bengaluru on Sunday.
Representing Leapfrog Racing, Krish dominated both the Sprint and Feature races in the Senior Max class to climb to the top of the championship standings after two rounds of the 2026 season.
The Bengaluru round witnessed intense wheel-to-wheel racing across all categories, with Hyderabad’s Shiv Tummala and Kolhapur youngster Ayansh Patil emerging as the standout performers in the Mini Max and Micro Max classes respectively.
Krish Gupta’s commanding weekend helped him open a nine-point advantage over Chennai’s Shivaan Karthik in the Senior Max championship standings. Shiv Tummala now leads Bengaluru’s Jishnu Seralathan by a single point in Mini Max, while Ayansh Patil moved two points clear of Mumbai’s Aarav Sureka in the Micro Max category.
In the premier OKJ Junior class of the Indian Karting Academy Trophy, Chennai’s Rivaan Dev Preetham continued his dominant run by winning both the Super Heat and Final Race for the second consecutive round.
Driving for MSPORT, Rivaan once again showcased impressive pace and consistency despite both races being shortened by one lap following on-track incidents. His commanding victories repeated the strong form he displayed during the opening round earlier this month at the same venue.
The OKJ Junior category, introduced by Meco Motorsports in 2023, gives young Indian racers valuable exposure to FIA-spec OK-J engines and chassis used in international karting competitions, including the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.
The final round of the Meco Meritus Cup and the Indian Karting Academy Trophy will be held on June 6-7 at the CoASTT circuit in Coimbatore.
