Tata Motors Cars and SUVs to Get Costlier by Up to Rs 25,000 From September 1, 2026

Mumbai, India, August 21, 2026: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPV) has announced a fresh price hike across its passenger vehicle portfolio in India, with prices of cars and SUVs set to increase by up to Rs 25,000 from September 1, 2026. The revision will apply to both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs).

The increase will not be uniform across the range, with the extent of the price hike varying depending on the model and variant. Tata Motors said the revised pricing has been structured to maintain the overall value proposition of its products.

Tata Motors Price Hike From September 2026

According to Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, the latest price revision is aimed at partially offsetting the impact of rising input costs and sustained inflationary pressures.

The company said it continues to absorb a significant portion of the increase in costs, while passing on only part of the impact to customers through the latest price adjustment.

The revised prices will come into effect from September 1, 2026, meaning customers purchasing Tata cars and SUVs from next month will have to pay higher prices, depending on the model and variant selected.

Tata Cars and SUVs Affected

The price revision covers Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle portfolio, including its ICE and electric vehicle offerings. The company’s current range includes models such as the Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Sierra, Harrier and Safari, along with their respective electric versions where available.

However, Tata Motors has not yet disclosed the detailed variant-wise pricing following the September hike. Therefore, the exact increase applicable to individual models will be known once the revised price list is released.

Third Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Price Hike of 2026

The latest announcement comes after Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles implemented price increases earlier in 2026.

The company increased prices of its ICE portfolio by a weighted average of 0.5% from April 1, 2026, citing continued increases in input costs.

This was followed by a price increase of up to 1.5% across its ICE and EV portfolio from July 1, 2026, again citing rising input costs and inflationary pressures.

The September revision therefore adds to the series of price adjustments being made by Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles this year.

Tata Motors Price Hike Comes Amid Industry-Wide Cost Pressures

Tata Motors’ latest move comes at a time when several automobile manufacturers in India are revising vehicle prices amid continuing cost pressures.

Hyundai Motor India recently announced that it would increase prices across its portfolio by up to 1% from September 2026, while Maruti Suzuki has also implemented recent price increases across its range.

For Tata Motors customers, the latest announcement means that those planning to purchase a Tata car or SUV may want to check the current prices and available offers before the revised prices take effect on September 1.

The company is expected to announce the detailed model- and variant-wise pricing closer to the implementation date.
