IAME Series India 2026 Finale to Make History With India’s First Night Karting Race

Chennai, India, August 28, 2026: The IAME Series India 2026 season finale is set to make history as the fifth and final round of the championship will be held under lights at the Madras International Karting Arena (MIKA), Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. The event will mark the first night racing format in Indian karting, adding a new dimension to the country’s competitive karting scene.

Promoted by RA Motorsports and organised by the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC) under the guidance of Vice-President Vicky Chandhok, the season finale will see drivers take to the circuit after sunset.

The floodlit event is expected to create a unique atmosphere for competitors, teams and spectators, while also presenting MIKA with the challenge of conducting a high-profile night racing event with stringent safety and operational standards.

IAME Series India 2026 Championship Battle Goes Down to the Wire

With the championship reaching its final round, the focus will be firmly on the title contenders across the four categories.

The current championship leaders heading into the season finale are:

  • Mini Under-10: Aaruthan Prabhu – Kumaraburam, Kartkrew Motorsports
  • Mini: Shiv Neel – Coimbatore, NKRA by KKM
  • Junior X30: Rehan Khan Rasheed – Chennai, Momentum Motorsports
  • Senior X30: Kairav Roberson – Chennai, MSPORT

A total of 30 competitors will contest the final round, with championship positions still to be decided. The combination of tight title battles and the unfamiliar challenge of racing under artificial lighting is expected to make the finale one of the most significant events on the 2026 Indian karting calendar.

IAME Series India Winners to Earn Macau Opportunity

The stakes extend beyond the IAME Series India championship. The winner of each of the four classes will earn an opportunity to represent India at the IAME Asia Finals in Macau, scheduled to take place from December 11 to 13, 2026.

For the four class champions, victory in the Indian championship will therefore represent the start of an international campaign. The winners will carry India’s colours onto the Asian karting stage and compete against leading young karting talent from across the region.

First Night Karting Race Adds New Dimension to Indian Motorsport

The decision to conduct the IAME Series India finale under lights represents a major milestone for Indian karting. While night racing is an established feature of motorsport in several parts of the world, the format remains relatively unexplored in India’s karting environment.

The floodlit MIKA circuit will provide competitors with a different set of conditions compared with daytime racing, while the spectacle of karts racing after sunset is expected to give the season finale an added visual and sporting appeal.

MIKA is preparing to host the event with a focus on safety and race operations, ensuring that competitors, teams and officials can operate under the demanding conditions associated with night racing.

With the championship titles, a place in the IAME Asia Finals in Macau, and a historic first for Indian karting all at stake, the IAME Series India 2026 season finale promises to be a fitting climax to the season.
