Cadillac Formula 1 Team Appoints Marc Hynes as Chief Racing Officer Ahead of 2026 Debut

Indianapolis, USA / Silverstone, UK – February 10, 2026: The Cadillac Formula 1® Team has announced the appointment of Marc Hynes as its new Chief Racing Officer, strengthening its leadership structure as the American manufacturer prepares for its debut season in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship™.

In his new role, Hynes will oversee the team’s racing operations, ensuring peak performance across both sporting and technical functions. His responsibilities will include aligning the driver roster with engineering teams, streamlining operational processes, and enhancing collaboration between departments to establish a competitive and disciplined team culture from the outset.

Oversight of Cadillac’s Driver Programme

Hynes will manage Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s driver programme, which features race drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez, reserve driver Zhou Guanyu, and test driver Colton Herta. He joins the project with a strong background as a former professional racing driver and a respected leader in driver development and management, bringing valuable competitive insight as Cadillac enters Formula 1.

“Building a new team in Formula 1 is a rare challenge,” said Hynes. “My focus will be on creating the clarity, alignment, and discipline needed to allow everyone—drivers and engineers alike—to perform at their very best. We have a strong and diverse driver line-up, and I’m excited to help shape the foundations of long-term success.”

Leadership Boost as Testing Begins

The appointment comes as the Cadillac Formula 1 Team begins official pre-season testing in Bahrain from February 11 to 13, a critical step in preparations for its first full campaign at the top level of motorsport. The team’s inaugural race weekend will take place at the Australian Grand Prix on March 8, marking a historic milestone for Cadillac in Formula 1.

Team Principal Graeme Lowdon highlighted the importance of the appointment: “Marc brings an exceptional combination of racing experience, strategic understanding, and people management. His ability to connect drivers, engineers, and leadership will be vital as we establish ourselves on the grid. Having someone of Marc’s calibre guiding our racing operations is a major asset for the Cadillac Formula 1 Team.”
