MotoGP Pre-Season Testing Schedule Revealed Ahead of 2026 Season
MotoGP’s build-up to the 2026 season is set to begin soon, with the full schedule of pre-season and in-season test dates now officially confirmed across MotoGP, Moto2™, and Moto3™ classes.
MotoGP Pre-Season Tests and Season Launch
The MotoGP pre-season gets underway with the Shakedown Test at Sepang International Circuit from 29 to 31 January, allowing test riders and rookies their first on-track running of the year.

Official MotoGP action then begins with the Sepang Test in Malaysia, scheduled from 3 to 5 February, marking the first full-field test ahead of the new campaign. Following the on-track action, teams and riders will attend the MotoGP Season Launch in Kuala Lumpur on 7 February.
The final pre-season outing takes place at Chang International Circuit in Buriram, which will host a two-day test on 21 and 22 February. This test comes just one week before the opening race weekend, with the PT Thai Grand Prixset to launch the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.
MotoGP In-Season Testing Plan
Once the season is underway, MotoGP will feature four in-season test days in 2026.
- Two official tests will be held immediately after the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez and the Catalan Grand Prix at Barcelona, with teams running tyres supplied by official MotoGP tyre partner Michelin.
- Two additional post-race, non-official tests are planned for the Mondays following the Czech Grand Prix and the Austrian Grand Prix, with teams testing tyres from the 2027 tyre supplier as part of future development programmes.
Moto2™ and Moto3™ Test Calendar Confirmed
The Moto2 and Moto3 pre-season test schedule has also been finalised, with sessions split by category to maximise track time.
- Moto3 will kick off its preparations with a test at Portimao on 9 and 10 February, followed by Moto2 at the same venue on 11 and 12 February.
- The Circuito de Jerez–Angel Nieto will then host the official Moto3 test on 14 and 15 February, followed by the official Moto2 test on 16 and 17 February.
During the season, Moto3 will have an in-season test on the Tuesday after the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez, while Moto2 will complete its in-season running on the Tuesday following the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona.
With pre-season testing dates now locked in, teams and riders across all three categories can focus on final preparations as anticipation builds for the start of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.
