TSI Racing Returns to Global Rallying as Dean Mascarenhas & Gagan Karumbaiah Set for WRC Debut

Bengaluru, April 21, 2026: Indian motorsport is set for a landmark moment as TSI Racing makes a highly anticipated return to the global stage. Drivers Dean Mascarenhas and co-driver Gagan Karumbaiah will debut in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC3 category) at the iconic Rally Islas Canarias 2026, beginning April 23 in Las Palmas, Spain.

A Historic Rally in Gran Canaria

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Rally Islas Canarias is one of the most prestigious tarmac rallies on the WRC calendar. Based in Las Palmas, the event spans 18 special stages covering 301.30 km of competitive distance, all on demanding asphalt terrain.

Mascarenhas and Karumbaiah will compete in a Ford Fiesta Rally3, tackling fast and technical roads against a highly competitive international WRC3 field over four days.

A Defining Moment for Indian Rallying

This debut marks more than just a new chapter for the driver pairing—it signals the resurgence of TSI Racing on the international stage. The team has played a key role in shaping India’s rallying presence globally, previously supporting stars like Gaurav Gill and Naren Kumar under its earlier Sidvin banner.

Backed by preparation support from PH Sport, the Indian duo enters the championship with a structured and long-term approach rather than a one-off appearance.

Built on Momentum and Preparation

The WRC entry follows Mascarenhas’ dominant run in the 2025 Indian National Rally Championship, reinforcing his status as one of India’s most consistent rally drivers. According to team leadership, the move is part of a carefully planned global programme aimed at sustained participation at the highest level.

Mascarenhas expressed confidence ahead of the debut, highlighting extensive testing and strong team support. Meanwhile, Karumbaiah’s precision pace notes and experience as a national champion co-driver will be crucial on unfamiliar European stages.

India’s Rallying Comeback Gains Pace

The entry of Mascarenhas and Karumbaiah into WRC3 places them among a select group of Indian competitors to contest multiple WRC rounds. More importantly, it reflects a broader revival of India’s international rally ambitions.

With TSI Racing leading the charge, the campaign represents a blend of experience, preparation, and long-term vision—aimed at firmly re-establishing India’s presence on the world rally map.

As the engines fire up in Gran Canaria, all eyes will be on the Indian duo as they take their first steps on rallying’s biggest stage.
