Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Launches 2026 Season in Historic Siena
Siena, Italy: Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP officially launched its 2026 MotoGP campaign in spectacular fashion, set against the timeless beauty of Siena’s historic centre at the prestigious Accademia Musicale Chigiana, just steps away from the iconic Piazza del Campo.
Founded in 1923 and recognised as one of the world’s most prestigious musical institutions, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana provided a fitting and symbolic backdrop for the unveiling of the team’s new season. The venue reflects a unique blend of tradition, excellence and innovation—values that mirror Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP’s ambitions in the premier class.
Siena Symbolises Heritage and Milestones
The choice of Siena carries deep significance for the team. It represents the heritage of Pramac, the construction equipment company whose long-term vision and commitment have been central to the racing project’s growth. The 2026 season marks two major milestones: 25 years of competition in the MotoGP World Championship and 60 years of Pramac, making the Tuscan city a meaningful setting to celebrate these achievements.
Second Year of Yamaha Factory Partnership
The 2026 season also signals the continuation of Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP’s technical partnership with Yamaha, now entering its second year. As Yamaha’s second Factory Team, Prima Pramac has already laid important foundations during its first season, beginning a learning process that continues with renewed focus and ambition.
The shared objective remains clear: to play an active role in returning Yamaha to the front of the MotoGP field.
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu Makes MotoGP Debut
One of the major highlights of the 2026 campaign is the MotoGP debut of Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, the three-time World Superbike Champion. The Turkish star becomes the first rider from Turkey to compete in MotoGP, bringing with him a spectacular, instinctive riding style that has captivated fans worldwide.
Alongside him, Jack Miller continues as a key pillar of the project. The experienced Australian provides valuable championship knowledge and will play an important role in bike development and race performance, particularly with Yamaha’s new technical direction.
Stability and Strong Leadership
Stability remains one of the team’s defining strengths. The management structure is unchanged for 2026, ensuring continuity, cohesion and shared ambition within a group that has worked closely together for years.
At the heart of the project, Prima Assicurazioni continues as title sponsor, reaffirming its commitment to Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP and its long-term partnership with Yamaha.
Leadership and Rider Reactions
Team Principal Paolo Campinoti described the 2026 season as a special milestone, highlighting 25 years of MotoGP competition and the team’s determination to continue progressing with Yamaha. He also welcomed Razgatlıoğlu while underlining the importance of Miller’s experience to the project.
Paolo Pavesio, Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing, emphasised the strategic importance of Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP within Yamaha’s factory racing structure, noting that consistency, development and structural strength remain key priorities as the partnership enters its second year.
Team Director Gino Borsoi highlighted the significance of Yamaha’s bold new technical philosophy, calling the 2026 season a fresh start driven by adaptability, learning and strong belief in the rider line-up.
From the sponsor’s perspective, Prima Assicurazioni CEO George Ottathycal expressed pride in supporting the team during its 25th anniversary season, building on recent successes and taking on the challenge of bringing Yamaha back to the top of MotoGP.
Riders Ready for a New Chapter
Jack Miller welcomed the continuity within the team, calling the new season an exciting chapter with the introduction of Yamaha’s YZR-M1 V4. He stressed the importance of the solid foundation built during the previous year and expressed confidence in the project’s direction.
