Mahindra Auto Sales August 2026: Overall Sales Rise 42% to 1,07,648 Units
Mumbai/ Bengaluru, India, September 1, 2026: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.) reported strong sales performance in August 2026, with its overall automotive sales, including exports, rising 42% year-on-year to 1,07,648 vehicles.
The automaker recorded particularly strong growth in its Utility Vehicles business, with domestic SUV sales increasing 50% YoY to 59,257 units in August 2026. Mahindra said demand remains strong across its portfolio ahead of the upcoming festive season.
According to Dr Velusamy R, President, Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., the company achieved SUV sales of 59,257 units in August, representing 50% growth, while total vehicle sales stood at 1,07,648 units, up 42% YoY.
He said the updated Mahindra Scorpio-N and BE 6 SPORTEQ have received a strong response from customers, with the company expecting to build further momentum during the festive season.
Mahindra SUV Sales Rise 50% in August 2026
Mahindra’s Utility Vehicles segment remained the biggest contributor to its passenger vehicle performance in August 2026.
The company sold 59,257 Utility Vehicles in the domestic market, compared with 39,399 units in August 2025. This represents a 50% year-on-year increase.
For the April-August period of FY27, Mahindra’s Utility Vehicle sales stood at 2,94,050 units, compared with 2,41,337 units during the corresponding period of FY26, registering 22% growth.
Overall domestic passenger vehicle sales, comprising Utility Vehicles, cars and vans, also stood at 59,257 units in August 2026, up 50% from the same month last year.
Mahindra Commercial Vehicle Sales Grow 22%
Mahindra also recorded healthy growth across its domestic Commercial Vehicles portfolio.
Sales of LCVs below 2 tonnes stood at 3,999 units in August 2026, up 37% compared with 2,925 units in August 2025. Year-to-date sales reached 17,851 units, representing 32% growth.
The LCV 2-tonne to 3.5-tonne category recorded sales of 23,416 units, a 20% increase over the 19,502 units sold in August 2025. YTD sales rose 19% to 1,08,350 units.
Mahindra’s three-wheeler sales, including electric three-wheelers, increased 42% YoY to 14,922 units in August. YTD sales stood at 65,715 units, representing a significant 62% growth over the previous year.
Mahindra Exports Surge 71%
Mahindra’s export performance also remained strong during August 2026.
The company exported 6,054 vehicles during the month, compared with 3,548 units in August 2025, registering a 71% year-on-year increase.
For the April-August period, total exports stood at 26,012 units, up 63% from 15,983 units during the same period of FY26.
Mahindra Trucks and Buses Sales Jump 47%
Mahindra’s Trucks and Buses business, comprising Mahindra Truck & Bus Division (MTBD) and SML Mahindra Limited (SML), recorded total sales of 2,495 vehicles in August 2026, including exports. This was a 47% increase over the 1,701 vehicles sold in August 2025.
Cargo vehicle sales increased 55% YoY to 1,532 units, while passenger vehicle sales rose 35% to 963 units.
For the April-August period, the combined MTBD and SML business recorded sales of 14,893 vehicles, up 17% from 12,684 units in FY26.
MTBD Sales Grow 54%
Mahindra Truck & Bus Division reported total sales of 1,320 vehicles in August 2026, a 54% increase over the 859 units sold in August 2025.
MTBD’s cargo vehicle sales grew 56% to 1,040 units, while passenger vehicle sales increased 47% to 280 units.
YTD sales for MTBD stood at 6,677 vehicles, representing 22% growth.
SML Mahindra Sales Rise 40%
SML Mahindra Limited recorded total sales of 1,175 vehicles in August 2026, up 40% from 842 units in the same month last year.
SML’s cargo vehicle sales increased 53% YoY to 492 units, while passenger vehicle sales rose 31% to 683 units.
YTD sales for SML stood at 8,216 units, representing 14% growth over the 7,195 units sold during the corresponding period of FY26.
Mahindra Launches BLAZO i-TRK
During August, Mahindra Truck & Bus Division also launched the all-new Mahindra BLAZO i-TRK, strengthening the company’s Heavy Commercial Vehicles portfolio.
The new truck has been developed around Mahindra’s “Profit Ka Rocket” proposition and offers up to 10% higher fuel efficiency, along with a 48-hour Uptime Guarantee backed by an assurance of ₹10,000 per day.
Commenting on the Trucks and Buses business, Vinod Sahay, Executive Chairman – SML, President – Aerospace, Advanced Technologies, Trucks, Buses & CE, M&M, said the segment continues to benefit from higher infrastructure spending, rising freight demand and replacement demand.
However, he noted that the business continues to face challenges from rising input and fuel costs. He also pointed out that August 2025 volumes were muted ahead of anticipated GST changes, meaning the year-on-year growth in August 2026 also reflects a lower base.
Mahindra Looks Ahead to Festive Season
Mahindra enters the upcoming festive season with strong momentum across SUVs, commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, exports and its Trucks and Buses business.
The company’s 50% growth in domestic SUV sales, combined with strong demand for models such as the updated Scorpio-N and BE 6 SPORTEQ, will be closely watched as the Indian automotive industry enters one of its most important sales periods of the year.
