Tata Motors August 2026 Sales Surge 56% to 67,753 Units; Commercial Vehicle Sales Rise 49%
Bengaluru/ Mumbai, India, September 1, 2026: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. reported a 56% year-on-year increase in total passenger vehicle sales in August 2026, while Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles also recorded strong growth during the month. The passenger vehicle business sold 67,753 units across domestic and international markets in August 2026, compared with 43,315 units in August 2025.
The commercial vehicle business recorded total sales of 44,411 units in August 2026, up 49% from 29,863 units during the same month last year.
The latest figures point to strong demand across Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle, electric vehicle and commercial vehicle portfolios.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Sales Up 56%
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. sold 67,753 units in the domestic and international markets in August 2026, compared with 43,315 units in August 2025, registering a robust 56% YoY growth.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 65,253 units, representing a 59% increase over the 41,001 units sold in August 2025.
International business sales stood at 2,500 units, up 8% compared with 2,314 units in the corresponding month last year.

Tata Motors EV Sales Almost Double
Tata Motors’ electric vehicle business delivered particularly strong growth during August 2026.
The company recorded combined domestic and international EV sales of 16,549 units, compared with 8,540 units in August 2025. This represents a significant 94% year-on-year increase.
The EV sales figure includes sales of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.
The strong growth highlights continued momentum for Tata Motors’ electric vehicle portfolio as the company expands its presence across different segments of India’s rapidly developing EV market.
Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle Sales Rise 49%
Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle business also recorded strong growth in August 2026.
Total commercial vehicle sales across domestic and international markets stood at 44,411 units, compared with 29,863 units in August 2025, registering a 49% YoY increase.
Domestic commercial vehicle sales increased 33% to 36,619 units, compared with 27,481 units in August 2025.
International Business sales witnessed a particularly sharp increase, rising 227% YoY to 7,792 units from 2,382 units in August last year.

MH&ICV Sales Grow 31% in Domestic Market
Tata Motors reported domestic sales of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MH&ICV) at 17,531 units in August 2026, compared with 13,405 units in August 2025.
This represents a 31% year-on-year increase.
Including international markets, MH&ICV sales stood at 18,920 units in August 2026, compared with 14,667 units in August 2025, registering a 29% YoY growth.
Strong Growth Across Tata Motors’ Businesses
The August 2026 sales performance reflects broad-based growth across Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle businesses.
The passenger vehicle division benefited from a 59% increase in domestic sales, while its EV portfolio recorded a 94% rise in combined domestic and international sales. Meanwhile, the commercial vehicle business saw a 33% increase in domestic sales, supported by growth across trucks, passenger carriers and SCV cargo and pickup segments.
The sharp 227% increase in international commercial vehicle sales was another key highlight of the month.
