Chennai Brothers Geoffrey and Johann Emmanuel Shine with Triple Podium at Losail International Circuit
Doha, Qatar – September 2025: Chennai siblings Geoffrey and Johann Emmanuel delivered a memorable weekend at the Losail International Circuit, securing three podium finishes between them in two different categories of the QSTK Championship.
Johann Emmanuel Bounces Back from 200km/h Crash to Victory
Making his debut in the Superstock 600cc Championship, 19-year-old Johann Emmanuel showcased remarkable resilience. In Race 1, he built a commanding 10-second lead and was even challenging riders from the superior class before disaster struck. A false neutral at over 200 km/h caused his rear wheel to lock, resulting in a high-speed crash that ended his chances of victory.
Switching to a different bike for Race 2, Johann regrouped and delivered a dominant performance. Despite not being able to push at full capacity, he rode with precision and composure to claim an emphatic 20-second win — a stunning way to mark his debut weekend.
“When I looked back at the grid for the first time, I had goosebumps,” Johann reflected. “Qualifying fourth on debut was incredible, and while the crash in Race 1 was heartbreaking, bouncing back to take P1 in Race 2 means a lot.”
Double Podium for Geoffrey Emmanuel in SuperSport 600
Meanwhile, elder brother Geoffrey Emmanuel (20), competing for the first time in the SuperSport 600 class, impressed with back-to-back podium finishes.
In Race 1, after starting P3 and dropping positions early, Geoffrey displayed grit and determination, carving his way back through the field to finish third. In Race 2, he made a stronger start and maintained his position in the leading group before securing another third-place finish, underlining his consistency on debut.
“Racing in the SuperSport 600 class for the first time was an incredible experience,” said Geoffrey. “I learnt a lot over the two races, and while there’s still plenty to improve, this is just the beginning.”
A Historic Weekend for Indian Motorsport
The Emmanuel brothers’ performances in Qatar mark a significant step forward for Indian representation in international motorcycle racing. Geoffrey, already known as the first Indian rider in the FIM JuniorGP World Championship, and Johann, making waves with his resilience and raw pace, are positioning themselves as promising young talents on the global stage.
With their Losail heroics, the Chennai siblings have not only showcased their racing pedigree but also highlighted India’s growing footprint in the world of motorsport.
