Cupertino, United States, November 4, 2026: Apple has announced the new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by its next-generation M6 chip, promising significant improvements in processing performance, graphics, on-device artificial intelligence (AI) and wireless connectivity. The latest MacBook Pro is aimed at college students, business professionals and creative users who require powerful computing capabilities for demanding workloads.
The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 starts at ₹2,39,900 in India, while eligible students and educators can purchase it at an education price of ₹2,27,900. Pre-orders opened on October 28, with customer deliveries and retail availability scheduled to begin on November 6. The laptop will be offered in Space Black and Silver finishes.
Apple M6 Chip Brings Major Performance Improvements
At the heart of the new MacBook Pro is Apple’s M6 processor, featuring a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU. The company claims the new CPU includes the world’s fastest CPU core, delivering improved performance across everyday productivity tasks, multitasking and demanding professional applications.
Compared to the previous-generation M5, the M6-powered MacBook Pro offers up to 30 per cent faster graphics performance and up to 25 per cent faster performance for on-device AI workloads. Users upgrading from an M1-powered MacBook Pro could see even more substantial improvements, with Apple claiming up to 11 times faster graphics performance and up to 13 times faster AI performance.
The GPU incorporates Neural Accelerators in each core, while a dual 16-core Neural Engine further enhances AI processing capabilities. These improvements are designed to accelerate workloads such as image generation, AI upscaling, image processing and large language model (LLM) operations.
Apple also claims up to 1.9 times faster Neural Engine performance compared to the M5. The new MacBook Pro comes with 16GB of unified memory as standard, configurable up to 32GB, alongside memory bandwidth of up to 170GB/s.
In terms of professional applications, the M6-powered MacBook Pro delivers up to 11.7 times faster ray-tracing rendering in Blender and up to 3.3 times faster image processing in Affinity compared to the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1. Code compilation in Xcode is also claimed to be up to 2.5 times faster.
Up to 24 Hours of Battery Life and Wi-Fi 7 Connectivity
Battery life is another major highlight of the new 14-inch MacBook Pro. Apple claims up to 24 hours of usage on a single charge, making it the longest battery life offered on a Mac to date. This represents up to four additional hours for users upgrading from an M1-based MacBook Pro and up to 14 additional hours for those moving from Intel-based models.
The laptop also introduces Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity for faster wireless performance and reduced latency. It supports up to two external displays and features an array of connectivity options, including HDMI, MagSafe 3, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an SDXC card slot and a headphone jack.
The display is a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR panel with up to 1,600 nits of peak HDR brightness and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Apple is also offering an optional nano-texture display finish to reduce reflections and glare in challenging lighting conditions.
Other features include a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View, a three-microphone array and a six-speaker audio system with Spatial Audio support. The MacBook Pro also supports fast charging, reaching up to 50 per cent battery capacity in approximately 30 minutes when paired with a compatible higher-wattage USB-C power adapter.
macOS 27 Brings New AI Features
The new MacBook Pro runs macOS 27, also referred to as macOS 27 Golden Gate, bringing a range of software enhancements and AI-powered capabilities.
A major addition is Siri AI, which Apple describes as a more capable and conversational personal assistant. It can use personal context to help users find information across messages, emails and photos, answer questions and perform tasks across applications.
Apple Intelligence features are also integrated across everyday applications, with improvements to Safari, Photos, Spotlight and Shortcuts. These include tools to organise browser tabs, track website changes such as product restocks and price reductions, enhance photographs and create automations using natural-language instructions.
The new software also brings refinements to the Liquid Glass interface, including additional customisation options that allow users to adjust transparency and visual appearance.
Apple Focuses on Recycled Materials
Apple has highlighted the environmental credentials of the new MacBook Pro as part of its broader target of achieving carbon neutrality across its entire footprint by 2030.
The laptop uses 45 per cent recycled content overall, including 100 per cent recycled aluminium in its enclosure and 100 per cent recycled cobalt in its battery. It also marks the company’s first use of 100 per cent recycled tantalum in multiple capacitors.
The device is manufactured using 60 per cent renewable electricity across its supply chain and features fibre-based paper packaging designed for recycling.
