Verstappen Targets Strong Brazilian GP Weekend After Mexico Victory

Sao Paulo, Brazil, November 5, 2026: Max Verstappen is looking to carry his winning momentum from the Mexico City Grand Prix into this weekend’s Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos, as Red Bull Racing aims to maintain its strong form in the closing stages of the 2026 Formula 1 season.

The four-time world champion secured a victory in Mexico, marking his third race win of the 2026 campaign. The result has provided a significant boost to Verstappen and the Red Bull team, with the Dutchman encouraged by the progress made over the last few race weekends.

Verstappen credited the team’s efforts for the Mexico victory and believes the recent performances indicate a positive step forward as the season approaches its conclusion.

Reflecting on the win, Verstappen said: “It was amazing to get the win in Mexico and huge credit goes to the Team. The last few weekends have been a lot more promising and I didn’t think I would be winning three races this year. This is a hugely positive step in the right direction as we head to the final few races.”

The Brazilian Grand Prix is a particularly special event for Verstappen, who has enjoyed several memorable performances at Interlagos. The circuit also holds personal significance for the Dutchman, as his family in-law are Brazilian.

Verstappen is looking forward to returning to the venue and has confirmed that he will sport a special helmet design for the weekend, paying tribute to Brazil and its fans.

“I always look forward to going to Brazil. It is a fantastic place and is obviously pretty special as my family in-law are there. The track has been good to me in the past and we have had a lot of great drives and good memories, so I hope we can have another solid weekend,” he added.

“I’ll be wearing my special helmet in Brazil, with the design to be something nice for the fans and to show what a special place this is for me.”

Meanwhile, Red Bull team-mate Isack Hadjar is aiming for a more consistent weekend in Brazil after picking up points in Mexico. The young driver believes the team’s underlying pace has been encouraging, although he feels there was further potential left untapped at the previous round.

Hadjar highlighted improvements in the car’s starting performance as another positive development, but stressed the importance of putting together a cleaner weekend at Interlagos to maximise the team’s competitiveness.

“It was good to pick up points after the race in Mexico, even if we left feeling there was more on the table. Our pace has been really strong, and we made good progress with our starts, so there are positives to take into Brazil,” Hadjar said.

The Frenchman also pointed out that Interlagos presents a different challenge compared to Mexico. With its relatively short lap and distinctive circuit layout, getting the car into the right performance window from the opening practice session will be crucial.

Interlagos has traditionally delivered exciting Formula 1 racing, with its combination of elevation changes, technical sections and overtaking opportunities making it one of the most challenging venues on the calendar.

For Red Bull, the objective will be to translate its recent improvements into another competitive result. Verstappen will be keen to build on his Mexico triumph, while Hadjar will look to convert the team’s promising pace into a stronger points haul.

With only a few rounds remaining in the 2026 Formula 1 season, the Brazilian Grand Prix could prove important for both drivers as Red Bull looks to finish the campaign on a high.
