Max Verstappen’s Dutch GP Race Suit Raises £70,000 for Wings for Life
London, United Kingdom, November 3, 2026: Max Verstappen has helped raise £70,000 for Wings for Life through the auction of his special edition race suit from the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix weekend. Hosted by F1 Authentics, the auction offered fans and motorsport collectors an opportunity to own a unique piece of Formula 1 memorabilia associated with the final running of the Dutch GP at Zandvoort.
The 2026 Oracle Red Bull Racing race suit was worn by Verstappen during the Dutch Grand Prix weekend before being personally signed by the four-time World Champion. Adding to its significance, the winning bidder will also get the opportunity to meet Verstappen and receive the suit directly from the Red Bull Racing driver.
The £70,000 raised through the auction will support Wings for Life’s ongoing research into spinal cord injuries and its efforts to find a cure.
Max Verstappen’s special edition suit marks final Dutch GP at Zandvoort
The auction carried additional significance as the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix marked the final running of the Formula 1 event at Zandvoort.
Since the circuit returned to the F1 calendar in 2021, Verstappen had become closely associated with the event, winning its first three editions in 2021, 2022 and 2023. His victories in front of the passionate home crowd, with its distinctive sea of orange, became a defining feature of the Dutch Grand Prix.
The special edition race suit featured a unique design created to celebrate Verstappen and his legacy at his home Grand Prix. Designed exclusively for the occasion, it will not be used again, making it a particularly significant piece of Formula 1 memorabilia. Its association with the final Zandvoort race and Verstappen’s personal autograph further enhanced its appeal to collectors.
F1 Authentics continues support for Wings for Life
Wings for Life is an international spinal cord research foundation established in 2004 by Dietrich Mateschitz and two-time motocross World Champion Heinz Kinigadner. The organisation supports pioneering research and clinical trials aimed at finding a cure for spinal cord injuries.
According to the foundation, 100% of donations go towards funding research and clinical trials worldwide.
F1 Authentics has previously supported Wings for Life through auctions involving Max Verstappen and Oracle Red Bull Racing. Earlier fundraising initiatives included a signed motion simulator and race suits associated with milestone events in Canada and Japan.
The latest auction continues this collaboration, with the proceeds from Verstappen’s Dutch GP race suit contributing to the foundation’s research efforts.
Emma Hind, CEO of Wings for Life UK, thanked F1 Authentics, Verstappen and Oracle Red Bull Racing for supporting the initiative. She described the £70,000 result as a phenomenal contribution to spinal cord injury research and highlighted the historical significance of the race suit, given its connection to Verstappen’s home race and the final Formula 1 event at Zandvoort.
