Arvid Lindblad Unveils Special Diwali-Inspired Helmet for 2026 São Paulo GP
Sao Paulo, Brazil, November 4, 2026: Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula 1 driver Arvid Lindblad has unveiled a special Indian-inspired helmet to celebrate Diwali ahead of the 2026 São Paulo Grand Prix. The Festival of Lights falls on race day, Sunday, November 8, making the occasion particularly meaningful for the British driver, who has strong family connections to India through his maternal grandparents.
The special helmet celebrates Lindblad’s Indian heritage, Punjabi roots and childhood memories of celebrating Diwali with his maternal grandparents, affectionately known as Nani and Nana. The initiative brings elements of one of India’s biggest festivals to the Formula 1 paddock, combining traditional Indian artwork and symbolism with a contemporary racing helmet design.
Lindblad played an active role in developing the design, drawing inspiration from Diwali traditions and his family’s cultural background. The helmet reflects the festival’s central themes of hope, joy, triumph and the victory of light over darkness.

Rangoli, Lotus and Phulkari Inspire Helmet Design
The helmet’s design takes inspiration from rangoli patterns that Lindblad has created over the past few years, including one he made during last year’s Diwali celebrations. An intricate rangoli-inspired pattern forms the foundation of the design on top of the helmet, with its elements extending down the sides.
Several traditional Indian symbols have been incorporated into the artwork. A diya, one of the most recognisable symbols of Diwali, represents light, hope and joy. The front and rear sections feature a lotus flower and traditional fireworks, adding further cultural significance to the design.
The lotus represents purity, resilience and the ability to overcome adversity. This symbolism connects with Lindblad’s belief that circumstances do not define an individual and that determination and hard work can help shape one’s own future.
The fireworks, meanwhile, reflect the festive celebrations enjoyed by families during Diwali, as well as Lindblad’s personal memories of lighting diyas with his grandfather.
The base of the helmet features a Phulkari-inspired pattern, paying tribute to his maternal grandmother and her Punjabi heritage. Together, these elements make the helmet a personal celebration of Lindblad’s family traditions and Indian roots.
Racing Bulls Brings Diwali Celebrations to the F1 Garage
Visa Cash App Racing Bulls will extend the celebrations beyond the helmet by incorporating Diwali-inspired elements into Lindblad’s side of the garage at Interlagos.
A dedicated ‘Happy Diwali’ sticker will feature on the halo of his Formula 1 car. The garage floor will also feature an intricate rangoli pattern, accompanied by a lotus flower and a diya positioned above Lindblad’s surname.
The garage panels behind the car will carry complementary rangoli-inspired designs, creating a visual connection between the special helmet and the wider garage environment.
Lindblad said celebrating Diwali with his family, particularly his Nani and Nana, had been an important part of his upbringing. He described the helmet as a meaningful opportunity to celebrate his Indian heritage and family roots on the Formula 1 stage.
The Racing Bulls driver was closely involved in the creative process, ensuring the design remained contemporary while respecting the meaning and traditions associated with the festival.
Lindblad also expressed his excitement about wearing the helmet during the Brazilian Grand Prix, describing it as an emotional moment and hoping the initiative would help share the spirit of Diwali with people celebrating around the world.
The special livery adds a cultural dimension to the 2026 São Paulo GP weekend, giving Lindblad an opportunity to celebrate his heritage in front of the global Formula 1 audience while bringing a touch of India’s Festival of Lights to the Interlagos paddock.
