Mumbai, September 1, 2025: Indiaโs commercial vehicle industry posted a steady performance inย August 2025, with overall domestic and export sales climbingย 5% year-on-yearย toย 15,239 units, compared toย 14,463 unitsย in August 2024. The growth was largely driven by robust demand forย medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) buses, which registered double-digit gains.
Domestic Sales: Marginal Growth at 2%
Domestic sales of commercial vehicles rose 2% to 13,622 units in August 2025, up from 13,347 units in the same month last year.
- M&HCV Trucks: Sales grew slightly byย 1% to 6,426 unitsย (Augโ24: 6,385).
- M&HCV Buses: Strong demand pushed sales upย 11% to 1,565 unitsย (Augโ24: 1,405).
- Total M&HCV: Combined segment sales improvedย 3% to 7,991 unitsย (Augโ24: 7,790).

When exports are included, total commercial vehicle sales in August 2025 rose to 15,239 units, an increase of 5%compared to 14,463 units a year earlier.
