Mumbai, India, September 8, 2026: Mahindra & Mahindra has expanded its light commercial vehicle portfolio with the launch of the new Mahindra Veero 1.1 XXL CNG and the upgraded Mahindra Veero Diesel. The latest additions are based on Mahindra’s Urban Prosper Platform (UPP), a multi-energy modular commercial vehicle platform developed for the sub-3.5-tonne LCV segment.

The Veero was first introduced in September 2024 and has been positioned around mileage, performance and safety, while also marking the debut of Mahindra’s Urban Prosper Platform. With the latest update, Mahindra is expanding the Veero range with a CNG variant aimed at intra-city logistics and adding new technology and convenience features to the diesel range.

Mahindra Veero 1.1 XXL CNG: 1.1-tonne payload and 2,900 mm cargo deck

The Mahindra Veero 1.1 XXL CNG has been designed specifically for intra-city transportation requirements. It offers a 1.1-tonne payload along with a 2,900 mm (9.5-foot) cargo deck, allowing operators to carry higher-volume loads while retaining a relatively compact footprint.

The new CNG commercial vehicle also gets a 5.1-metre turning radius, which Mahindra says enables easier manoeuvrability through congested city streets as well as tight loading and unloading locations.

Power comes from a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine developing 48.5 kW of power and 98 Nm of torque.

One of the key highlights is its claimed fuel efficiency. The Veero 1.1 XXL CNG has an ARAI-certified efficiency of 21.4 km/kg and a combined Petrol + CNG driving range of more than 450 km. This is aimed at helping commercial operators extend operating range while reducing idle periods.

Mahindra is targeting the new CNG model at several urban logistics applications, including FMCG distribution, fruit and vegetable transportation, e-commerce deliveries, parcel and courier movement and market loads.

Upgraded Mahindra Veero Diesel gets more features

Alongside the new CNG model, Mahindra has upgraded the Veero Diesel with additional technology, comfort and convenience features.

The Veero already offers features such as a touchscreen, power windows, driver airbag and reverse parking camera. With the latest update, Mahindra has added a 26.03 cm touchscreen infotainment system featuring Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system also supports voice commands with multiple language options.

The upgraded diesel model also gets cruise control, which is designed to improve driver comfort during longer journeys. Mahindra has additionally introduced LNT technology as part of the update.

Other comfort features include a heater with AC, reclining driver’s seat with adjustable headrest, flat-fold seats with sleep provision, door armrest and D+2 seating arrangement.

Mahindra Veero gets enhanced iMAXX connectivity

Connectivity is another area where the upgraded Veero Diesel gains additional functionality.

Mahindra’s iMAXX connected vehicle technology now includes remote AC control, alongside more than 50 other features. These include vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, route planning, vehicle health tracking and fuel tracking.

Mahindra has also confirmed that power windows and fast-charging ports will be standard across all variants.

The Mahindra Veero 1.1 XXL CNG is priced from ₹8.25 lakh (ex-showroom), while the V4 variant costs ₹8.55 lakh. The Pastel Riversand colour option attracts an additional ₹5,000 premium.

The upgraded Mahindra Veero Diesel is available in multiple configurations, with prices starting at ₹8.29 lakh and going up to ₹9.45 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the variant.

The upgraded Mahindra Veero Diesel is available from September 8, 2026, while customer availability of the new Veero 1.1 XXL CNG is scheduled to begin from September 20, 2026.

With the introduction of the Veero 1.1 XXL CNG and the upgraded diesel variants, Mahindra is broadening its multi-energy commercial vehicle strategy while targeting the diverse requirements of India’s intra-city and logistics operators.
