Following a dramatic weekend at Aragon, just 24 points separate the top three riders in the MotoGP championship. Pedro Acosta Could Influence the Title Fight

Pedro Acosta may be some distance from the championship lead, but the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider could still play a significant role in deciding where the 2026 MotoGP crown ends up.

Bagnaia will be looking to rediscover his pace and finish in front of his home supporters after a disappointing run of results.

Franco Morbidelli will also be chasing a return to the top 10, having last achieved a Sunday top-10 finish at the Catalan GP.

Alex Marquez and Aldeguer Bring Momentum

BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP enjoyed a positive Aragon weekend.

Alex Marquez claimed second place in the Sprint and fourth in the Grand Prix, continuing his strong return to action.

Teammate Fermin Aldeguer also impressed with a pair of sixth-place finishes across the Sprint and Grand Prix. Both riders will arrive at Misano confident of fighting near the front once again.

Enea Bastianini will also be one to watch. The Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider finished eighth at Aragon and returns to a circuit where he has enjoyed considerable success, including a MotoGP victory in 2024 and his first MotoGP podium in 2021.

Pol Espargaro will continue to race for Red Bull KTM Tech3 at Misano as Maverick Viñales continues his recovery from injury.

Johann Zarco Makes Strong MotoGP Return

Johann Zarco made an impressive return to MotoGP action at Aragon after missing the previous six Grands Prix.

The Castrol Honda LCR rider progressed into Q2, finished ninth in the Sprint and eventually salvaged a championship point after serving a double Long Lap penalty during Sunday’s race.

His teammate Diogo Moreira also delivered an impressive weekend, finishing seventh in the Sprint and ninth in the Grand Prix.

The result gave Moreira his second Saturday-Sunday double points haul of the 2026 season and his fifth Sunday top-10 finish of the year.

Honda will be looking for further progress at Misano, with Joan Mir and Luca Marini both targeting stronger performances.

Yamaha Riders Look to Continue Progress

Yamaha showed signs of improved competitiveness at Aragon, with Jack Miller leading the manufacturer’s charge.

The Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP rider has now recorded four consecutive top-12 finishes heading into Misano.

Toprak Razgatlioglu was also fighting around the top 10 before a Turn 12 crash ended his weekend. The Turkish rider will be hoping to convert his improved pace into a strong result in Italy.

Alex Rins scored points with 13th place at his home Grand Prix, while Fabio Quartararo will be targeting his first Sunday points finish since the German GP.

Misano also holds special significance for Quartararo, as it was the circuit where he secured the 2021 MotoGP World Championship.
