Mumbai: Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) closed 2025 with one of its strongest performances to date, driven by a resilient recovery in the Indian automotive industry and rising demand across multiple segments.

The Group reported its highest-ever domestic sales of 117,000 units, registering an impressive year-on-year growth of approximately 36%. Total cumulative sales, including exports, reached 159,500 units, capping a milestone year in which SAVWIPL crossed the landmark of 2 million Made-in-India vehicles—a testament to the scale and maturity of its manufacturing operations in the country.

MQB-A0-IN Platform Drives Growth

The MQB-A0-IN platform, developed specifically for Indian market requirements, continued to anchor the Group’s growth strategy. The platform now underpins all locally manufactured Škoda and Volkswagen models, reinforcing SAVWIPL’s commitment to localisation, efficiency and value creation.

Exports also played a key role in 2025, with cumulative shipments surpassing 715,000 units, firmly positioning India as a strategic global production and export hub for the Group. As part of its internationalisation strategy, SAVWIPL expanded its footprint by exploring and entering new markets across the GCC and ASEAN regions.

Strong Brand Performances Across Segments

Volkswagen maintained its leadership position in the premium sedan segment, with the Virtus commanding a 38% segment share year-to-date. Adding to the momentum, the first batch of the Volkswagen Golf GTI sold out within days of its launch, underlining strong customer demand.

Škoda delivered a standout performance with 107% year-on-year growth, driven by strong demand for the sub-4-metre Kylaq and the highly anticipated return of the Octavia RS, which resonated strongly with brand loyalists and performance enthusiasts.

To support its expanding customer base, the Group increased its sales and service touchpoints to 700 across brands, creating a well-distributed and reliable service network across India.

Premium and Luxury Brands Expand Footprint

In the premium segment, Audi strengthened its portfolio with the launch of the Q7 Signature EditionQ3 and Q5 Signature Lines, and the award-winning RSQ8 Performance, setting new benchmarks in power, precision and luxury.

Luxury and sports car brands also marked significant milestones. Lamborghini introduced the Temerario, while the Revuelto was crowned Super Car of the YearPorsche expanded its presence to 13 points of sale and introduced new experiential formats to deepen customer engagement.
