Maruti Suzuki to Set Up 12 Automated Driving Test Tracks Across Six Locations in Telangana
Hyderabad/ New Delhi, India, November 5, 2026: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Transport Department of the Government of Telangana to establish 12 Automated Driving License Test Tracks (ADTTs) across six locations in the state. The initiative is aimed at improving road safety, enhancing transparency in driving licence assessments and ensuring that only qualified applicants receive driving licences.
Announced on November 5, 2026, the project will cover Ibrahimpatnam and Kondapur in Ranga Reddy district, Uppal, Medchal and Nagole in Medchal district, and Karimnagar.
The proposed Automated Driving Test Tracks will cater to applicants seeking driving licences for two-wheelers (TW), light motor vehicles (LMV) and heavy motor vehicles (HMV). The facilities will use advanced technology to automate the driving evaluation process, reducing human intervention and ensuring objective assessments.
Automated Driving Test Tracks to Use Advanced Technology
The ADTTs will be equipped with high-definition cameras, RFID sensors, real-time analytics and an integrated IT system. These technologies will enable fully computerised and rule-based driving tests in compliance with the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR).
The automated evaluation system is designed to eliminate human bias and errors, making the licensing process more transparent, consistent and efficient. By assessing applicants against predefined parameters, the tracks will help ensure that driving licences are awarded based on demonstrated driving skills and competence.
