Kinetic Engineering Invests ₹57 Crore to Expand EV Business, Targets Top 10 Electric Two-Wheeler Brands

Pune, India, September 25, 2026: Kinetic Engineering Limited (KEL), the flagship company of the Kinetic Group, is stepping up its electric mobility ambitions with an additional investment of approximately ₹57 crore towards expansion and growth.

Of the total investment, around ₹17 crore will be deployed towards capital expenditure, while ₹40 crore will be invested in expanding Kinetic Engineering’s electric two-wheeler business. The investment represents the final tranche from the conversion of 44,51,000 warrants issued to promoters in March 2025.

The fresh investment comes as Kinetic continues to expand its presence in India’s electric two-wheeler market. The company has signed Letters of Intent (LOIs) with more than 150 dealers across the country, with over 60 dealerships already operational. These outlets are backed by 3S facilities covering Sales, Service and Spares, providing Kinetic with a growing retail and after-sales network.

According to Kinetic Engineering, the company has also received an encouraging market response to its electric two-wheeler products. With its expanding dealer network and increasing market traction, Kinetic is now targeting a position among the top 10 electric vehicle brands in India.

Kinetic targets growing electric two-wheeler market

The company expects the expansion opportunity to increase significantly as electric two-wheeler adoption grows in India. Kinetic cited a Kearney report which projects electric two-wheeler penetration to reach approximately 26% by FY2030, with the market potentially expanding from around 1.8 million units currently to 7 million units.

Kinetic Engineering plans to use this expected market growth to expand its footprint, increase its retail presence and scale its electric mobility business.

At the centre of the company’s EV strategy are the Kinetic DX and DX+ electric scooters, which are being positioned as practical urban mobility solutions. The scooters now offer up to 132 km of IDC range and are powered by an upgraded 3.1 kWh LFP battery.

The Kinetic DX range combines the increased battery capacity with features aimed at everyday usability. These include 37-litre under-seat storage, a metal body, Easy Charge, Easy Flip, Easy Key, Kinetic Assist and My Kiney voice-enabled functions.

The Kinetic DX has also received the “Viewers’ Choice EV Scooter of the Year” recognition, adding to the company’s efforts to build its presence in the electric two-wheeler segment.

Kinetic strengthens design and engineering focus

Kinetic is also highlighting its design capabilities as part of its broader product strategy. Its design division, Kinetic Watts & Volts, won two titles at the India’s Best Design Awards 2026 — India’s Best In-House Design Studios 2026 and India’s Best Design Project 2026.

The company said the recognitions reflect its focus on combining Kinetic’s heritage with contemporary design, innovation and customer-focused engineering.

Alongside its EV expansion, Kinetic Engineering is also looking to grow its automotive components business. The company said it has a healthy pipeline of new orders and is working towards improving its EBITDA margin to around 12%.

Kinetic also highlighted increased promoter participation in the company. Promoter shareholding has risen from 50% to 69.27% over the past four years, which the company said reflects confidence in its long-term growth strategy.

Commenting on the development, Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Kinetic Engineering Limited, said the company is entering a new phase of growth across its automotive components and electric mobility businesses.

“Our auto-components business is seeing a healthy pipeline of new orders, which will support growth and help us work towards our target of improving EBITDA margins to around 12%. At the same time, the response to our Kinetic DX electric scooter has been encouraging, giving us confidence to expand our presence across markets,” Firodia said.

He added that Kinetic will continue investing in capacity, technology and its retail network as it works to scale both businesses and establish itself as a leading player in India’s electric mobility segment.

With investments in manufacturing, technology, product development and its dealer network, Kinetic Engineering is looking to build on its engineering heritage while expanding its presence in India’s rapidly evolving electric two-wheeler market.
