Kinetic Engineering Invests ₹57 Crore to Accelerate Electric Two-Wheeler Expansion
Pune, India, September 24, 2026: Kinetic Engineering Limited (KEL), the flagship company of the Kinetic Group, has announced an additional investment of approximately ₹57 crore to support its expansion and growth plans, with a significant portion earmarked for its electric two-wheeler business.
The investment comprises around ₹17 crore in capital expenditure (Capex) and approximately ₹40 crore for expansion of the company’s electric two-wheeler segment. Kinetic said the investment represents the last tranche from the conversion of 44,51,000 warrants issued to promoters in March 2025.
The fresh investment comes as Kinetic continues to expand its electric vehicle retail network across India. The company has signed Letters of Intent (LOIs) with more than 150 dealers, of which over 60 are already operational. These outlets are supported by 3S facilities covering Sales, Service and Spares, creating a wider distribution and after-sales network for Kinetic electric scooters.
Kinetic Engineering said the response to its electric two-wheeler products has also been encouraging, with the company looking to build on growing consumer interest in its EV portfolio.
Kinetic targets top 10 EV brands
As part of its growth strategy, Kinetic is targeting a position among the top 10 electric vehicle brands in India. The company cited a Kearney report that projects electric two-wheeler penetration to reach approximately 26% by FY2030.
According to the company, the electric two-wheeler market could expand from its current size of around 1.8 million units to approximately 7 million units, creating opportunities for manufacturers to increase their market presence.
Kinetic plans to use this expected market expansion to scale its electric mobility business, supported by investments in products, technology, manufacturing capabilities and its retail network.
Kinetic DX and DX+ drive EV strategy
A key part of Kinetic’s electric mobility strategy is its Kinetic DX and DX+ electric scooters, which are currently gaining traction in the market.
The scooters offer an IDC range of up to 132 km and use an upgraded 3.1 kWh LFP battery. Kinetic says the battery technology has been developed to offer a combination of range and durability for everyday commuting.
The DX and DX+ also feature 37-litre under-seat storage, a metal body and a range of convenience-focused technologies. These include Easy Charge, Easy Flip, Easy Key, Kinetic Assist and My Kiney voice-enabled functions.
The Kinetic DX has also received the “Viewers’ Choice EV Scooter of the Year” recognition, further highlighting the company’s focus on its new electric scooter platform.
Kinetic Watts & Volts wins design awards
Kinetic is also placing emphasis on design as part of its product development strategy. Its design division, Kinetic Watts & Volts, won two titles at the India’s Best Design Awards 2026.
The division was recognised as India’s Best In-House Design Studios 2026 and also won India’s Best Design Project 2026.
According to Kinetic, the awards reflect its efforts to combine the brand’s heritage with contemporary design, technology and customer-focused engineering.
Promoter holding rises to 69.27%
Kinetic Engineering also highlighted the increase in promoter participation in the company. Promoter shareholding has risen from 50% to 69.27% over the past four years, according to the company.
Kinetic said the increased promoter participation reflects stakeholder confidence in its long-term growth strategy and its plans for the rapidly developing electric mobility market in India.
Commenting on the investment and the company’s growth plans, Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Kinetic Engineering Limited, said the company is entering a new phase of growth across its automotive components and electric mobility businesses.
He said the auto-components business has a healthy pipeline of new orders and that Kinetic is working towards improving its EBITDA margin to around 12%. Firodia also pointed to the response to the Kinetic DX electric scooter and the company’s plans to expand its presence across markets.
With additional investments in capacity, technology and its retail network, Kinetic Engineering is looking to scale both its automotive components and electric mobility businesses. The company is now aiming to build a larger presence in India’s expanding electric two-wheeler market while leveraging its established engineering and automotive heritage.
