Chennai, India, September 10, 2026: India’s top two-wheeler racers will renew their rivalries this weekend as the second round of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W 2026 gets underway at the Madras International Circuit (MIC) from September 11 to 13.

The three-day event will feature 18 races, along with practice and qualifying sessions, as more than 125 competitors representing 15 teams take to the Madras International Circuit. The entry list also includes around half a dozen riders from the North-East, underlining the growing reach of two-wheeler racing in India.

The opening round in August produced several close battles across all six classes, along with the Petronas TVS Racing One-Make Championship. With another strong field assembled for Round 2, the MIC is expected to deliver more wheel-to-wheel action throughout the weekend.

Super Sport 301-400cc Open class takes centre stage

The premier Super Sport 301-400cc Open category will be one of the major attractions of Round 2. The class features fierce competition aboard the TVS GP 310R motorcycles and brings together some of India’s most promising young racers.

The Petronas TVS Racing trio of teenagers – Pune’s Sarthak Chavan, Bengaluru’s Chiranth Vishwanath and Chennai’s Rakshith Dave – will renew their battles at MIC. The three youngsters will also face a strong challenge from Hyderabad’s 28-year-old Rahil Pillarisetty, who represents the RACR Castrol Power1 team.

With the youngsters showing strong pace in the opening round, Pillarisetty’s experience could prove valuable as the four riders fight for race wins and championship points.

Kabilesh returns to Super Stock 301-400cc action

Another rider attracting attention is 16-year-old Chennai racer Kabilesh, son of multiple National champion Rajini Krishnan. Competing in the Super Stock 301-400cc Open class, Kabilesh showed glimpses of his potential in Round 1 despite competing against older and more experienced riders.

Kabilesh was forced to retire from Race 1 while leading because of a mechanical problem. He bounced back strongly in the following race, however, securing victory and demonstrating the pace and fighting spirit that runs in the family.

The teenager is also returning to competition following a lengthy rehabilitation after suffering major injuries in a crash while racing in Malaysia. His progress will be closely watched during the second round at MIC.

Ann Jennifer looks to extend winning streak

In the Super Stock 165cc Intermediate category, Chennai’s Ann Jennifer will be aiming to continue her impressive run. The former National women’s champion won both races in Round 1 in the mixed-gender class and heads into the second round in confident form.

Riding for Motul Sparks Racing, Jennifer will be looking to maintain her winning momentum against a competitive field as she bids to strengthen her position in the championship.

Growing participation a positive sign

Chairman of the Event and Race Director Manoj Dalal said the increasing participation, particularly among young and first-time racers, is an encouraging sign for Indian two-wheeler motorsport.

“It is a good sign that the MRF Indian National Challenge 2W is thriving with a lot of talented youngsters as was seen in Round 1 in August. It is even more heartening that the number of first-time racers has increased reflecting the growing popularity of two-wheeler racing,” said Dalal.

“We welcome all the competitors and stakeholders for Round 2 which I am sure will be as exciting, if not more, than the previous round,” he added.

With more than 125 entries, a strong mix of established racers and emerging talent, and 18 races scheduled across the weekend, Round 2 of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W 2026 is set to provide another action-packed weekend of national-level motorcycle racing at the Madras International Circuit.
