Pune, India, October 26, 2026: Jeep India has launched the Compass Sport 9AT in the country, introducing a 9-speed automatic transmission to the entry-level variant of its premium SUV for the first time. Priced at ₹21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Jeep Compass Sport automatic is the most affordable automatic version of the SUV in India.

The new variant combines the familiar 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo-diesel engine with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, offering buyers greater convenience for everyday driving. Customer deliveries are scheduled to commence from the second week of November 2026 through Jeep dealerships and Stellantis Brand Houses across India.

The engine produces 170 HP and 350 Nm of torque, with the automatic transmission designed to deliver smooth gear changes and effortless performance across varying driving conditions.

Jeep Compass Sport 9AT: Features and Equipment

The new Jeep Compass Sport automatic retains the SUV’s distinctive styling and a range of safety, technology and convenience features. Safety equipment includes six airbags, Auto Hold and cruise control.

The infotainment system features a 21.3 cm Uconnect touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The SUV also gets steering-mounted controls and electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors.

Jeep has equipped the Compass Sport 9AT with Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) suspension, designed to improve ride comfort across different road surfaces. Dynamic Steering Torque (DST) is also included to support responsive handling and driver confidence.

Buyers can further personalise the SUV with an optional Accessory Pack priced at ₹29,900. The package includes ambient lighting, a dashcam with predictive safety features, Swoosh decals, all-weather floor mats and mud flaps.

Jeep Compass Range Continues to Offer Multiple Options

The introduction of the Compass Sport 9AT expands the SUV’s existing line-up, which offers manual and automatic transmission choices alongside two-wheel-drive (2WD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations.

By bringing an automatic gearbox to the entry-level Sport variant, Jeep aims to make the Compass more accessible to customers who prefer an automatic SUV without stepping up to a higher variant.
