Yokohama India Launches GEOLANDAR X-CV Tyres for Crossover and Premium SUVs

Visakhapatnam, India, August 12, 2026: Yokohama India has launched the new GEOLANDAR X-CV tyre range for crossover and premium SUVs in India, expanding the availability of technology originally developed for luxury SUVs with wheel sizes above 18 inches to vehicles using 16-inch wheels and above.

With 32 sizes planned across 16- to 20-inch wheel applications, Yokohama India says the GEOLANDAR X-CV will become its most extensive dedicated tyre pattern for crossover and premium SUVs in the Indian market.

The new tyre range has been engineered to deliver a balance of wet-weather grip, ride comfort, durability, high-speed stability and efficiency, addressing the varied road and weather conditions experienced by Indian motorists.

Yokohama GEOLANDAR X-CV features

The GEOLANDAR X-CV incorporates Yokohama’s latest compound and tread technologies. The tyre uses Micro Silica technology, which is designed to improve wet-road grip while reducing rolling resistance to enhance driving efficiency.

An asymmetric tread pattern features specially engineered inner and outer shoulder blocks to improve wet traction, steering response and stability during high-speed cornering.

The tyre also gets four wide circumferential grooves designed to evacuate water efficiently, improving wet braking performance and resistance to hydroplaning. Yokohama’s proprietary 2D–3D Combination Sipes further enhance wet traction while promoting more even tread wear for longer tyre life.

For improved cabin refinement, the GEOLANDAR X-CV employs 5-Pitch Variation Technology, which is designed to reduce pattern noise and provide a quieter driving experience.

Reinforced construction for SUVs and EVs

Recognising the increased demands placed on crossover and premium SUVs, the GEOLANDAR X-CV features a reinforced two-ply sidewall construction and Full Nylon Cover. These technologies are designed to enhance durability and high-speed stability.

The new tyre range is also EV compatible, with its robust construction developed to accommodate the higher weight and instant torque characteristics associated with electric vehicles.

Yokohama India says the GEOLANDAR X-CV is designed to maintain durability, extended tyre life and refined driving performance when fitted to electric SUVs and crossover models.

GEOLANDAR X-CV targets India’s growing SUV market

The launch reflects Yokohama India’s strategy of expanding its premium tyre portfolio in India while investing in manufacturing, localization and product innovation.

Speaking at the launch, Nitin Mantri, Member of the Board and Senior Managing Officer & Co-COO of Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. and Chairman of Yokohama India Pvt. Ltd., said India remains one of Yokohama’s strategic markets globally.

The product was unveiled in the presence of Nitin Mantri, Anil Gupta, Officer, Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd., COO of ATC Tires Pvt. Ltd. and Vice Chairman of Yokohama India Pvt. Ltd., and Harinder Singh.

Yokohama GEOLANDAR X-CV availability and offer

The Yokohama GEOLANDAR X-CV will be available from August 2026 through the Yokohama Club Network (YCN) and select authorised Yokohama India dealers.

The range will be offered in multiple specifications catering to premium, mid-size and compact crossover SUVs, with sizes planned from 16 inches through 20 inches.

As part of the launch offer, customers purchasing the new GEOLANDAR X-CV range can also avail of a no-cost EMI option.
