2027 WorldSBK Calendar: Phillip Island Farewell, Valencia Return and China Finale

October 1, 2026: The provisional 2027 WorldSBK calendar has been released, featuring 12 rounds across nine countries and three continents. The season will begin at Phillip Island in Australia in February and conclude at the Shanghai International Circuit in China in October.

The 2027 calendar brings several changes to the World Superbike Championship, including the final WorldSBK visit to Phillip Island, the return of Valencia, and the championship’s debut in China.

The WorldSSP class will compete at all 12 rounds, while the WorldWCR and WorldSPB championships will have more limited schedules.

Phillip Island to Host Final WorldSBK Round

The 2027 WorldSBK season will get underway at Phillip Island from February 19-21, with WorldSBK and WorldSSP opening their campaigns at the Australian circuit.

The weekend will mark WorldSBK’s final appearance at Phillip Island, with the Australian Round scheduled to move to The Bend from 2028.

An official WorldSBK and WorldSSP test will take place at Phillip Island on February 15-16, ahead of the opening round.

Portimao Opens European Season

WorldSBK returns to Europe for the second round at Portimao from March 19-21. The Portuguese round will also mark the start of the 2027 seasons for WorldSPB and WorldWCR.

The WorldSPB and WorldWCR official test will be held at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve on March 15.

Valencia Returns to WorldSBK Calendar

The Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia returns to the WorldSBK calendar from April 2-4, hosting the third round of the season.

Valencia previously hosted WorldSBK between 2000 and 2010. Its return means Spain will have two WorldSBK venues on the 2027 calendar, with MotorLand Aragón also featuring.

The Circuit Ricardo Tormo is known for its stadium-style configuration, allowing spectators to see large sections of the circuit from the grandstands.

All four championships — WorldSBK, WorldSSP, WorldSPB and WorldWCR — will compete at the Valencia round.

Jerez will not feature on the 2027 WorldSBK calendar due to ongoing renovation work.

European WorldSBK Rounds Through the Summer

Following Valencia, the championship heads to Assen in April and Aragón in May.

June features rounds at Most and Misano, before the championship heads to Donington Park from July 9-11 for the final event before the summer break.

The Donington Park round will also mark the first WorldSPB appearance at the Leicestershire circuit.

The WorldSBK season resumes at Magny-Cours in September, followed later that month by the round at Cremona.

The European portion of the WorldSBK season concludes at Estoril from October 15-17. The Portuguese circuit will also host the final round of the eight-round WorldSPB season.

Shanghai to Host WorldSBK Season Finale

The 2027 WorldSBK Championship will conclude at the Shanghai International Circuit from October 29-31.

The event will mark WorldSBK’s debut in China, adding a new country to the championship’s international calendar.

The Shanghai International Circuit, located in the Jiading District in the northwest of Shanghai, was designed by renowned circuit architect Hermann Tilke and opened in 2004.

Shanghai will host the final WorldSBK and WorldSSP races of the 2027 season, with WorldSSP competing at all 12 rounds.

2027 WorldWCR Calendar

The FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) will compete at six WorldSBK events during the 2027 season.

The championship begins at Portimao in March, followed by Valencia, before travelling to Most and Misano in June.

After the summer break, WorldWCR returns at Magny-Cours, before concluding its six-round season at Cremona from September 24-26.
