Mahindra Racing’s Formula E Season 12 in Numbers: 252 Points, Seven Podiums and Two Wins

Mahindra Racing’s 2025/26 FIA Formula E World Championship campaign was its most successful season to date in terms of points, as the Indian team finished third in the Teams’ Championship after scoring 252 points, seven podiums and two race victories.

The 12th season of Mahindra Racing’s Formula E programme represented a significant turnaround for the Indian manufacturer. Across a record 17-round calendar, Mahindra Racing not only achieved its highest points tally in the championship but also secured its first multiple-win season since Season 4.

The team’s Season 12 statistics underline the scale of its progress during the GEN3 era.

17 races in Formula E’s longest season

The 2025/26 Formula E season featured 17 rounds, making it the longest championship in the series’ history. Mahindra Racing competed from the season opener in São Paulo through to the double-header finale in London.

Formula E will go even further in Season 13, with a 21-race calendar planned for the debut of the all-new GEN4 era.

252 points — Mahindra’s highest Formula E tally

Mahindra Racing accumulated 252 points during Season 12, surpassing its previous best of 215 points, scored during Season 3 when the championship featured 12 rounds.

The 252-point haul also represented a dramatic improvement from the team’s opening season of the GEN3 era.

Mahindra scored just 41 points in Season 9 (2022/23). By Season 12, that figure had risen to 252 points, representing a 514.6 per cent increase over the four-season period.

According to Mahindra Racing, it was the only team competing throughout the GEN3 era to increase its points tally in every season of the generation.

Third in the Teams’ Championship

Mahindra Racing finished third in the Teams’ Championship, matching its previous best championship position while achieving the result for the first time in Formula E’s World Championship era.

The team secured third place after overtaking Andretti in the final race of the London season.

The result completed a steady climb through the GEN3 era. Mahindra finished 10th with 41 points in Season 9, improved to fourth in Season 11 and then moved into the top three in Season 12.

Seven podiums and two victories

Mahindra Racing stood on the podium seven times during the 2025/26 season, including two victories for Nyck de Vries.

De Vries won the Monaco E-Prix and Tokyo E-Prix, giving Mahindra its first two-win Formula E season since Season 4.

The Monaco victory was particularly significant for the team as it ended a wait of 1,736 days for a Formula E race win.

Mahindra’s previous victory had come with Alex Lynn at the London E-Prix in August 2021. De Vries’ Monaco triumph on May 16, 2026, therefore ended a wait of almost five years between wins.

For De Vries, the Monaco victory was also his first Formula E win since the 2022 Berlin E-Prix.

Five pole positions

Mahindra Racing also produced its strongest qualifying performance in Formula E during Season 12, securing five pole positions.

The five poles represented a new team record and meant that Mahindra claimed almost one-third of all its Formula E pole positions in a single season.

The team has now secured at least one pole position in eight of the past 10 Formula E seasons.

Its improved one-lap pace was highlighted at the London finale, where Mahindra Racing achieved a front-row lockout.

Edoardo Mortara’s qualifying record

Edoardo Mortara was one of the key contributors to Mahindra’s qualifying performance, adding four pole positions to his career tally during Season 12.

The Swiss-Italian driver now has seven career Formula E poles, placing him 10th on the championship’s all-time polesitter list.

Mortara’s fourth pole of the season in Tokyo also saw him match the Formula E record for the most pole positions by a driver in a single season. He equalled the mark previously achieved by Jean-Éric Vergne and Pascal Wehrlein.

Mortara also matched another qualifying record by becoming one of only three drivers to secure pole position at the same E-Prix on four occasions. He achieved the feat in Berlin, joining Vergne and Wehrlein.

A major GEN3 turnaround

Mahindra Racing’s Season 12 campaign capped a significant transformation during Formula E’s GEN3 era.

The team went from 41 points in 2022/23 to 252 points in 2025/26, while moving from 10th in the championship standings to third.

The combination of two victories, seven podiums, five pole positions and a record points haul made Season 12 a landmark campaign for Mahindra Racing.

The next challenge will come with the arrival of GEN4 in Formula E, accompanied by a 21-race calendar that will provide Mahindra Racing with its next opportunity to build on its strongest season yet.
