Kia India September 2026 Sales Hit Record 32,017 Units, Up 41%

New Delhi, India, October 1, 2026: Kia India recorded its highest-ever monthly sales since entering the Indian market, selling 32,017 units in September 2026, marking a 41% year-on-year increase over the 22,700 units sold in September 2025.

The record performance capped a strong third quarter for the Korean automaker, with Kia India Q3 2026 sales rising 38.5% to 89,259 units, compared with 64,443 units in Q3 2025.

The company said the strong performance reflects sustained customer demand for its SUV and MPV portfolio, with the Seltos and Sonet continuing to be key sales drivers, while newer models such as the Syros EV and Sorento add momentum across different segments and powertrains.

Kia India’s September sales of 32,017 units represent its highest-ever monthly sales since its entry into the Indian market.

For the first nine months of 2026, Kia India sold 253,008 units, up 22.5% from 206,582 units during January-September 2025.

Seltos and Sonet remain key Kia sales drivers

The Kia Seltos and Sonet continued to be the company’s primary volume contributors in India.

Kia said the Seltos has averaged more than 10,000 units per month since its launch in January, while the Sonet has maintained strong demand in the sub-compact SUV segment.

The company’s wider passenger vehicle portfolio includes the Carens, Carens Clavis and Clavis EV, giving customers a choice of ICE and electric powertrains in the family mobility space.

Syros EV gains momentum

Kia’s electric vehicle portfolio is also gaining traction, with the Syros EV continuing to see increasing customer demand.

The company said the model is helping expand its EV presence while offering customers an electric vehicle aimed at everyday mobility requirements.

Kia India has also introduced an ownership proposition for its EV range covering key concerns such as acquisition cost, battery assurance and resale value. This includes an Assured Buyback programme, Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty.

Kia Sorento gets strong customer response

The recently launched Kia Sorento has also received an encouraging response from Indian customers, according to the company.

The Sorento is offered with diesel and hybrid powertrain options, adding another model to Kia India’s expanding multi-powertrain strategy.

The company’s powertrain portfolio now spans conventional petrol and diesel engines, CNG, hybrid and electric powertrains.

Kia has also expanded its CNG offerings with the Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG, providing additional alternatives for buyers looking for lower running costs.

Kia India expands nationwide network

Kia India’s growing sales are supported by a nationwide network of 915 touchpoints across 425 cities.

The network provides sales, service and ownership support across established urban markets as well as emerging locations.

The company also has 137 Certified Pre-Owned outlets, offering services including instant payments and vehicle exchange facilities.

Kia India expects to build on sales momentum

Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said the company’s September and Q3 performance reflects continued customer demand for its portfolio.

He highlighted the contribution of the Seltos and Sonet while pointing to the response to the Sorento and Syros EV as evidence of demand across newer segments and powertrain categories.

With 253,008 units sold between January and September 2026, Kia India has recorded a 22.5% increase in year-to-date sales. The company enters the final quarter of 2026 with its portfolio spanning SUVs, MPVs, EVs, CNG and hybrid models, giving it a broader range of powertrain options across the Indian passenger vehicle market.
