Ultraviolette Shockwave to Launch in Q1 2027 with New 100V Architecture

Bengaluru, India, September 30, 2026: Ultraviolette has announced that its upcoming Shockwave lightweight electric motorcycle will be built on the company’s newly developed 100V architecture and launched in India in the first quarter of 2027. The new electrical architecture is expected to offer stronger power delivery, improved thermal efficiency and faster charging for the company’s lightweight motorcycle platform.

The Ultraviolette Shockwave, also known as the FUNDURO, has been conceived as a lightweight motorcycle focused on the pure enjoyment of riding. The motorcycle draws inspiration from the raw and spirited character of classic two-stroke motorcycles, with Ultraviolette positioning the Shockwave as an electric motorcycle designed around an engaging riding experience.

Ultraviolette Shockwave Gets New 100V Architecture

The move to the new 100V architecture represents a significant development for the Shockwave. Ultraviolette says the architecture has the potential to improve power delivery, thermal efficiency and charging performance, although the company has not yet revealed the final technical specifications of the motorcycle.

The 100V architecture was previously announced for the Ultraviolette Tesseract, with the Shockwave now becoming the second model from the Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle manufacturer to adopt the technology.

While the Shockwave and Tesseract are being developed for different riding experiences, Ultraviolette says the adoption of the new architecture reflects its continued investment in electric vehicle technology.

Shockwave Production Line Being Set Up

Ultraviolette has also confirmed that preparations for the Shockwave’s production have begun. The company is setting up a dedicated production line for the motorcycle within its existing manufacturing facility.

The Shockwave and Tesseract have been developed in parallel over the past year, according to Ultraviolette. The company says work is already underway to prepare the Shockwave for production ahead of its planned Q1 2027 launch.

The Shockwave will also be offered in single-seat and dual-seat configurations, giving buyers the choice between a more focused riding setup and a configuration designed to accommodate a pillion.

Commenting on the development, Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO, Ultraviolette, said the Shockwave was envisioned from the beginning as a motorcycle aimed at bringing back the pure enjoyment of riding.

He added that bringing the company’s 100V architecture to the Shockwave is an important step towards that objective and said the motorcycle is expected to offer an engaging riding experience when it launches in the first quarter of 2027.

Ultraviolette is yet to announce the final specifications, battery capacity, performance figures, range, charging times and pricing of the Shockwave. The company says further details will be revealed closer to the motorcycle’s launch.

With production preparations already underway, the Ultraviolette Shockwave is expected to become the company’s next lightweight electric motorcycle, combining its FUNDURO concept with the newer 100V electrical architecture.
