Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle Sales Jump 37% in July 2026, International Business Surges 128%

Bengaluru, India, August 1, 2026: Tata Motors Limited continued its strong growth trajectory in the commercial vehicle segment, reporting total sales of 39,641 units across domestic and international markets in July 2026. The company registered a 37% year-on-year (YoY) increase, compared to 28,956 units sold in July 2025.

The impressive performance was supported by robust demand across heavy, intermediate and small commercial vehicles, along with exceptional growth in the company’s international business.

Domestic Commercial Vehicle Sales Rise 28%

Tata Motors recorded 33,876 domestic commercial vehicle sales in July 2026, up from 26,432 units in the same month last year. The 28% YoY growth reflects sustained demand across the company’s diverse commercial vehicle portfolio, including trucks, passenger carriers and cargo vehicles.

International Business More Than Doubles

The standout performer for the month was Tata Motors’ international business, which grew by an impressive 128%. Overseas sales increased to 5,765 units in July 2026 from 2,524 units a year earlier, highlighting the company’s expanding global footprint and rising demand for its commercial vehicles in export markets.

Strong Growth Across Commercial Vehicle Segments

Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) truck sales reached 8,973 units, representing a 33% increase over the 6,735 units sold in July 2025.

The Intermediate, Light and Medium Commercial Vehicle (ILMCV) truck segment also posted healthy growth, with sales rising 20% to 6,100 units from 5,068 units during the corresponding month last year.

Passenger carriers recorded 5,938 units, registering a 25% YoY growth compared to 4,749 units in July 2025.

Meanwhile, the Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) cargo and pickup segment remained a key contributor to Tata Motors’ performance, with sales climbing 30% to 12,865 units, up from 9,880 units last year.

MH&ICV Segment Maintains Positive Momentum

Tata Motors also reported continued growth in its Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (MH&ICV) business.

Domestic MH&ICV sales stood at 15,435 units, compared to 12,378 units in July 2025, registering a 25% year-on-year increase.

Combined domestic and international MH&ICV sales reached 16,364 units, up 20% from 13,669 units during the same period last year.

The latest sales figures underline Tata Motors’ continued strength in India’s commercial vehicle market, with balanced growth across domestic operations and export markets. The strong performance also reflects healthy demand across freight, logistics and passenger transportation segments.
