Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Sales Rise 59% in July 2026; EV Sales More Than Double
Mumbai, India, August 1, 2026: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPV) recorded a strong performance in July 2026, registering total sales of 63,760 units across domestic and international markets. The company posted a 59% year-on-year growth, compared to 40,175 units sold during the same month last year.
The impressive sales performance was driven by robust demand in the domestic market, continued export growth and a sharp rise in electric vehicle (EV) sales.
Domestic Passenger Vehicle Sales Up 58%
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles sold 62,611 passenger vehicles in the domestic market during July 2026, compared to 39,521 units in July 2025. This represents a 58% year-on-year increase, reflecting strong customer demand across the company’s portfolio of hatchbacks, SUVs and electric vehicles.
International Business Records 76% Growth
The company’s international business (IB) also recorded healthy growth. Exports increased to 1,149 units in July 2026 from 654 units in the corresponding month last year, registering a 76% year-on-year growth.
With both domestic and overseas sales contributing positively, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles achieved total sales of 63,760 units, up from 40,175 units in July 2025.
Tata EV Sales Jump 114%
Electric vehicles continued to be one of the biggest growth drivers for Tata Motors.
The company reported combined domestic and international EV sales of 15,217 units in July 2026, more than doubling from 7,124 units sold in July 2025. This translates to an impressive 114% year-on-year growth, reinforcing Tata Motors’ leadership in India’s electric passenger vehicle market.
The EV sales figures include volumes from Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.
Tata Motors Strengthens Position in Passenger Vehicle Market
The strong July sales underline Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles’ continued momentum across both conventional and electric vehicle segments. The company has been expanding its portfolio with multiple powertrain options, connected vehicle technologies and intelligent mobility solutions, while continuing to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly growing EV market.
Formerly known as Tata Motors Limited, the company officially adopted the name Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited in October 2025 following a Composite Scheme of Arrangement approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
With robust growth across domestic sales, exports and electric vehicles, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has started the second half of 2026 on a strong note, reflecting healthy demand and the accelerating shift towards sustainable mobility.
