Williams Unveils Special Union Jack Livery for 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone
Grove, England, June 29, 2026: Atlassian Williams F1 Team celebrates its home race with a striking Union Jack-inspired livery, special race suits, fan activations, and nationwide roadshow ahead of the British Grand Prix.
Atlassian Williams F1 Team has officially unveiled a special one-off Union Jack-inspired livery for the 2026 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, celebrating its home race at the iconic Silverstone Circuit with a patriotic design and a week-long schedule of fan-focused events.
The exclusive livery features bold splashes of red, white and blue across the nose cone and sidepods of the team’s challenger, paying tribute to Britain’s rich motorsport heritage and Williams’ historic connection with Formula 1’s oldest permanent circuit.
Alongside the special car design, drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz will wear bespoke race suits throughout the British Grand Prix weekend, while the team’s trackside personnel will sport limited-edition uniforms created in partnership with official team kit supplier New Era.
Fans can also purchase the commemorative apparel as part of Williams’ special British Grand Prix merchandise collection.
Williams Celebrates Nearly Five Decades of British Motorsport Heritage
The 2026 British Grand Prix marks another significant chapter in Williams’ illustrious history. Founded in 1977 and headquartered in Grove, Oxfordshire, the legendary British outfit remains one of Formula 1’s most successful independent teams.
Over nearly five decades of competition, Williams has amassed:
- 114 Formula 1 Grand Prix victories
- 9 Constructors’ World Championships
- 7 Drivers’ World Championships
Silverstone has been the backdrop to many of the team’s defining moments. Williams secured its maiden Formula 1 victory there in 1979, when Clay Regazzoni guided the FW07 to victory.
The circuit also witnessed the team’s landmark 100th Grand Prix win in 1997, courtesy of Jacques Villeneuve.
Williams has claimed eight British Grand Prix victories, including three memorable triumphs by British icon Nigel Mansell. One of Formula 1’s most iconic moments came after Mansell’s dominant 1991 victory, when he famously gave rival Ayrton Senna a lift back to the pits on the sidepod of his Williams after Senna ran out of fuel.
Nationwide Fan Roadshow Ahead of British GP
The special livery forms part of an extensive week-long celebration leading into the British Grand Prix.
Williams will take its specially liveried show car on a nationwide tour, visiting:
- Cardiff
- Manchester
- Edinburgh
- London
Fans in London will also have the opportunity to attend free Williams Fan Zones, presented by Kraken, featuring live appearances from drivers Alex Albon, Team Principal James Vowles and 1996 Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill.
The Fan Zones will also include partner activations, exclusive merchandise and interactive experiences designed to build excitement ahead of the Silverstone race weekend.
James Vowles: British GP Holds a Special Place for Williams

From our first win to our 100th, Silverstone has played host to some of Atlassian Williams F1 Team’s most iconic moments – and there is nothing on the F1 calendar quite like the atmosphere of the home crowd here. Whether watching in the grandstands, supporting at the Fan Zone or cheering us on from home, we really feel the energy of the fans and will be carrying it with us all weekend.”
