MotoGP Extends MotorLand Aragon Partnership; Aragon Grand Prix Confirmed for 2027

Zaragoza, Spain, June 10, 2026: MotoGP has officially confirmed that the iconic Aragon Grand Prix will return to MotorLand Aragon in 2027 following a new agreement between MotoGP and the Government of Aragon. The announcement was made during an official event in Zaragoza on Tuesday, securing the future of one of Spain’s most popular motorsport events.

Under the renewed agreement, MotorLand Aragon will host the MotoGP World Championship in 2027. Beyond that, the circuit will continue to play a strategic role in the championship as MotoGP’s official reserve venue from 2028 through 2031.

The extension reinforces MotorLand Aragon’s long-standing relationship with MotoGP and highlights the circuit’s importance within the championship’s Spanish calendar.

“Circuits such as MotorLand Aragon are fundamental to MotoGP’s success,” said Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP. “MotorLand Aragon has been an important partner for MotoGP for almost two decades, playing a key role in the championship’s presence in Spain. The renewal for 2027 reflects both the strength of that partnership and the value the event brings to the region. We are very pleased to continue working together and to keep Aragón as part of the MotoGP family in the years ahead as a reserve circuit.”

Significant Economic Impact for Aragon

The Aragon Grand Prix continues to be a major economic driver for the region. According to figures released during the announcement, the event represents an annual investment of approximately €12 million while generating nearly €50 million in direct and indirect economic impact.

Almost half of this economic activity is directly attributed to the MotoGP Grand Prix, underlining the importance of the event to local businesses and tourism.

Each year, more than 110,000 spectators attend the race weekend, attracting visitors from across Spain and around the world. Hotels, restaurants, and local businesses frequently operate at full capacity during the event, providing a substantial boost to the regional economy.

Regional Government Welcomes Extension

Aragon’s regional president, Jorge Azcon, welcomed the agreement and emphasized the continued connection between the circuit and MotoGP.

“We are pleased to confirm that the Aragon Grand Prix will return next year. Motorcycles will once again roar around the Alcañiz circuit in 2027,” Azcon said. “MotorLand will also continue to be linked to MotoGP between 2028 and 2031 as a reserve venue.”

MotorLand Aragon Remains a Fan Favourite

Located near the city of Alcañiz, MotorLand Aragon is regarded as one of the most technically demanding and exciting venues on the MotoGP calendar. The circuit’s challenging layout, elevation changes, and overtaking opportunities have produced numerous memorable races since its debut in the championship.

With the 2027 Aragon Grand Prix now secured and reserve-circuit status guaranteed through 2031, MotoGP fans can look forward to the continued presence of MotorLand Aragon within the championship’s future plans.
