Škoda Auto India Opens Bookings for New Kodiaq RS, Brand’s Fastest SUV Yet

Mumbai, India, June 11, 2026: Škoda Auto India has announced the arrival of the all-new Kodiaq RS, expanding its performance-oriented RS portfolio with the brand’s first-ever seven-seater SUV to wear the iconic Rally Sport badge in India. Bookings for the high-performance luxury SUV will commence on June 22, 2026.

The new Kodiaq RS combines performance, premium comfort, seven-seat practicality, and advanced 4×4 capability, reinforcing Škoda’s motorsport heritage and performance DNA that spans more than 125 years.

Kodiaq RS Becomes Fastest Škoda in India

According to Škoda Auto India, the Kodiaq RS is set to become the fastest Škoda model available in the country. The SUV carries forward the legacy of the RS badge, which has been associated with performance-focused models for over five decades.

Commenting on the announcement, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, said:

“The RS badge carries over 50 years of global performance legacy and a fiercely loyal following in India since the Octavia RS arrived more than two decades ago. The latest Octavia RS, launched last year, sold out in just 20 minutes, highlighting its cult status among enthusiasts. Now, we’re taking that legacy forward with the Kodiaq RS, our first-ever seven-seater in India to wear the iconic RS badge and the quickest Škoda yet in the country.”

He added that the SUV combines performance, spaciousness, and all-wheel-drive capability while staying true to the brand’s racing roots.

Performance-Focused Luxury SUV

The RS designation, short for Rally Sport, has long represented Škoda’s commitment to delivering engaging driving dynamics and precision engineering. With the launch of the Kodiaq RS, the Czech automaker is bringing its performance philosophy into India’s premium SUV segment.

The new SUV aims to offer a blend of spirited driving characteristics, luxury appointments, seven-seat versatility, and enhanced off-road capability through its 4×4 drivetrain. The launch also aligns with Škoda India’s strategy of strengthening differentiation across its product portfolio.

Motorsport Heritage Shapes Kodiaq RS

Motorsport has played a significant role in Škoda’s identity for more than a century, and the Kodiaq RS serves as the latest expression of that racing heritage.

Recently, Škoda’s Indian lineup—including the Škoda Kylaq, Škoda Kushaq, Škoda Slavia, Škoda Kodiaq, and the limited-edition Škoda Octavia RS—set an India and Asia Book of Records benchmark for the fastest multi-car relay by a single manufacturer on a circuit.

The achievement was recorded at the CoASTT High Performance Centre in Coimbatore, where the five-car relay completed the challenge in a combined lap time of 12 minutes and 30.97 seconds, including driver changeovers.

The record formed part of Škoda’s “Greatest On A Track is a Škoda On A Track” campaign, highlighting the performance credentials of its entire model range.
