BMW Group India Posts Highest-Ever Nine-Month Sales in 2025; Electric Vehicle Sales Surge 246%
Gurugram, October 10, 2025: Revving up its record-breaking performance, BMW Group India has reported its highest-ever car sales in the first nine months (January–September) of 2025, reaffirming its strong leadership in the Indian luxury mobility market. The company sold 11,978 cars and 3,976 motorcycles, with BMW contributing 11,510 units and MINI accounting for 468 units.
The third quarter (July–September) marked an exceptional period for BMW Group India, which achieved its best-ever Q3 sales, reflecting 21% year-on-year growth, alongside record-breaking September sales fueled by new GST pricing benefits and buoyant festive season demand.

BMW Dominates the Luxury EV Segment in India
BMW Group India strengthened its position as India’s most preferred luxury EV brand, delivering 2,509 electric BMW and MINI vehicles, marking an astounding 246% year-on-year growth. Electric vehicles now make up 21% of the brand’s total sales, with the BMW iX1 emerging as the highest-selling electric car, followed by the BMW i7.
The company’s expanding electric mobility ecosystem includes BMW Destination Charging, Smart E-Routing, and Charging Concierge services. With over 6,000 accessible charging points nationwide and complimentary Wallbox chargers, BMW is setting new standards for premium e-mobility convenience in India.
The brand’s EV portfolio now includes BMW i7, iX, i5, i4, iX1 Long Wheelbase, MINI Countryman E, BMW CE 04, and BMW CE 02, blending advanced digitalisation, performance, and sustainability.
Long Wheelbase Models Drive Growth
BMW’s long wheelbase models—including the 7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series, and iX1—saw remarkable growth of 169% year-on-year, contributing 50% of total sales with 5,720 units sold.
The BMW 3 Series led sedan sales with a 16% share, while the 7 Series continued as the most desirable ultra-luxury limousine in its class. BMW Group India has now surpassed 15,000 long wheelbase units sold in the country to date.
SUVs Continue to Dominate Sales
BMW Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) remained the top choice for Indian buyers, achieving 7,040 units sold with 19% growth year-on-year. The BMW X1 accounted for over 30% of total sales, maintaining its position as India’s leading premium compact SUV, while the BMW X7 led the Luxury Class SAV category.
MINI and BMW Motorrad Continue Strong Momentum
MINI India recorded 468 units sold, led by the MINI Cooper S, which grew over 90% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad registered 3,976 motorcycles, driven by strong demand for the BMW G 310 RR and the BMW 1300 GS / GSA among big bike enthusiasts.

BMW Group India’s Retail.NEXT initiative continues to transform customer experience through a ₹365.6 crore investment across 56 facilities in 33 cities. By the end of 2025, BMW Group India will expand its dealer network with 11 new touchpoints across 9 cities.
