McLaren Unveils Fan-Inspired F1 Livery for Mexico City Grand Prix
Mexico City, Mexico, October 29, 2026: McLaren and its official principal partner BAT’s brand Velo have unveiled a special fan-inspired livery enhancement for the Mexico City Grand Prix, celebrating the creativity and passion of the team’s global fanbase.
The unique design will feature on both McLaren MCL40 race cars, driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, during the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix weekend. Created as part of the season-long Live Your Fandom campaign, the design incorporates artwork inspired by some of the most imaginative submissions from McLaren supporters around the world.
Earlier this year, fans were invited to share their most creative motorsport dreams, experiences and expressions of fandom. Selected submissions, ranging from light-hearted ambitions to memorable personal moments, have now been transformed into bespoke, sticker-style artwork.
The designs will feature across the two McLaren F1 cars, the team’s garage environment and other McLaren-owned assets throughout the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend.
McLaren and Velo Bring Fan Dreams to Life
The Live Your Fandom campaign has also turned several fan dreams into reality. Throughout the season, selected supporters have been invited to the McLaren Technology Centre to participate in exclusive experiences with drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
These interactions have provided fans with opportunities to connect with the team and its drivers, creating memorable experiences that recognise their passion and dedication to McLaren.
The special Mexico City GP livery represents another step in McLaren and Velo’s efforts to bring supporters closer to the team through storytelling, creative content and fan-focused experiences.
Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer at McLaren Racing, said the livery places the stories of the team’s supporters at the centre of the campaign.
“The Papaya Family is united by a shared passion for McLaren, and this special livery puts their stories at the heart of the team. By bringing individual ideas together in one collective design, we are celebrating the creativity of our fans on one of the biggest stages in motorsport,” McEwen said.
Malky Brown, Global Head of Content & Partnerships at BAT, highlighted the personal nature of the fan submissions and their role in the campaign.
“Every sticker tells the original story of a real fan dream, which is a powerful reminder that fandom isn’t one-size-fits-all, it’s personal, creative and unique to every fan. Through Live Your Fandom, Velo is helping turn those unique fan stories into unforgettable moments, giving them a place at the heart of the Mexico Grand Prix,” Brown said.
With the fan-inspired artwork taking centre stage at the Mexico City Grand Prix, McLaren and Velo aim to showcase the individuality of their supporters while strengthening the connection between the team and the global Papaya Family.
