Ola Electric Opens Sales and Service Network to Dealer Partners Across India, Targets Expansion by Diwali 2026

Mumbai, India, August 6, 2026: Ola Electric has announced a major overhaul of its retail strategy by opening its sales and service network to dealer partners across India, marking a significant shift in the company’s go-to-market approach five years after launching its first electric scooters.

The move signals a transition from the company’s company-owned retail model to a dealer-led network aimed at accelerating electric vehicle adoption and expanding its footprint across the country. Ola Electric expects the new dealership programme to achieve meaningful on-ground scale by Diwali 2026.

Ola Electric shifts from company-owned stores to dealer-led expansion

Ola Electric built its initial growth through a network of company-owned stores, which played a crucial role in creating awareness around electric mobility, building consumer trust, and establishing what the company says is India’s largest electric two-wheeler customer base with more than one million riders.

Under the new strategy, the company’s existing retail outlets will increasingly focus on delivering premium brand and product experiences, while dealer partners will drive local sales, after-sales service, and business expansion in cities and towns across India.

According to Ola Electric, the decision follows extensive engagement with prospective dealer partners over the past month. The company said it received encouraging feedback from dealers, who expressed confidence that Ola’s expanding product portfolio and strong brand recognition would help accelerate EV adoption in their respective markets.

Bhavish Aggarwal: Dealer partners understand local markets better

Commenting on the strategic shift, Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ola Electric, said the move reflects the evolving maturity of India’s electric vehicle industry.

“This is a big shift in how we go to market, and one that reflects where the EV industry in India is headed. We built our own stores first because trust in EVs had to be earned store by store, city by city. That phase built the foundation.”

He added that as the EV market matures, dealer partners are better positioned to serve local markets at scale, while company-owned stores will continue to showcase the brand and latest products.

Dealers to benefit from expanding EV portfolio

Ola Electric said dealer partners will gain access to a comprehensive portfolio that now extends beyond electric scooters to include motorcycles and energy products under the Ola Shakti brand. The company also indicated that additional energy products are in the pipeline.

The dealership proposition includes:

  • Access to a customer base of more than one million Ola Electric riders.
  • Sales opportunities across scooters, motorcycles, and energy products.
  • A recurring after-sales service business.
  • A dealer economics model designed to deliver sustainable returns.

BVR Subbu rejoins Ola Electric

As part of the transition, industry veteran BVR Subbu has rejoined Ola Electric as Senior Advisor to support the rollout of the dealership programme.

Subbu, the former President of Hyundai Motor India, previously served on Ola Electric’s board and has also been a mentor to Bhavish Aggarwal.

Expansion planned ahead of festive season

The dealer-led strategy is expected to significantly strengthen Ola Electric’s presence ahead of the 2026 festive season, enabling the company to expand into more towns and neighbourhoods while enhancing customer access to sales and service.

The company believes that combining its established EV brand with local dealer expertise will help drive the next phase of electric two-wheeler adoption in India.

Dealer partners interested in joining Ola Electric’s network can apply through the company’s official dealership partner portal.
