Tata Power Opens 60 kW EV Fast Charging Station on NH-66 in Karnataka

Bengaluru, India, August 1, 2026: Tata Power has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) charging network in Karnataka with the inauguration of a 60 kW DC Fast Charging Station at Coastal Paradise, Sasthan, along National Highway 66 (NH-66) in Udupi district. The new facility is aimed at improving fast-charging access for commercial fleets, business travellers and tourists using one of India’s busiest coastal highways.

The latest addition strengthens Tata Power’s efforts to build a robust EV charging ecosystem while supporting the growing adoption of electric vehicles across South India’s key economic and tourism corridors.

Strategic EV Charging Hub on NH-66

Located on NH-66, the new charging station serves a vital transport route connecting the commercial, port and educational hubs of Mangaluru, Manipal and Goa. The highway is widely used by commercial transport operators, business travellers and tourists exploring Karnataka’s scenic coastline.

Its strategic location makes it a convenient charging stop for both long-distance commuters and holidaymakers travelling along the western coast.

60 kW Dual-Gun Fast Charger

The newly commissioned charging station is equipped with a 60 kW DC dual-gun CCS2 charger, enabling compatible electric vehicles to charge from 20% to 80% in around 30 minutes.

The fast-charging capability is expected to reduce charging downtime for EV owners while making long-distance electric travel more convenient.

Built for Karnataka’s Coastal Climate

Tata Power said the charging infrastructure has been specifically designed to withstand the challenging coastal environment, including heavy monsoon rains, high humidity and saline air.

The company says the robust design ensures dependable performance and high operational uptime throughout the year, making it suitable for both private EV users and commercial fleet operators.

Charging Stop with Traveller Amenities

Located at Coastal Paradise, the charging station allows EV users to take a break while their vehicles recharge. Travellers can access refreshments, local cuisine and other amenities before continuing their journey.

The facility is expected to benefit commercial operators as well as tourists travelling between Mangaluru, Udupi and Goa.

Tata Power Expands EZ Charge Network

The commissioning of the Sasthan charging station is part of Tata Power’s broader expansion of its EZ Charge network across India.

The company currently operates:

• More than 2 lakh home chargers
• Over 6,700 public, semi-public and fleet charging points
• More than 1,200 e-bus charging points
• EV charging infrastructure across 690+ cities and towns
• A customer base of over 5 lakh registered EZ Charge users
