Bengaluru, March 19, 2026: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has announced a major capacity expansion at its Tapukara manufacturing facility in Rajasthan, reinforcing its long-term commitment to India’s rapidly evolving two-wheeler market.
The company will install a third production line at its plant in Tapukara, with operations scheduled to begin in 2028. This new line will add an annual production capacity of 6,70,000 units, taking the plant’s total capacity to 2.01 million units per year.
Expansion to Meet Rising Two-Wheeler Demand

₹1,500 Crore Investment and Job Creation
HMSI will invest approximately ₹1,500 crore (INR 15 billion) in the new production line. The expansion is also expected to create over 2,000 jobs, contributing significantly to regional economic development.

Through continuous efficiency improvements and automation initiatives introduced since 2023, the current capacity stands at 1.3 million units, with plans to reach 1.34 million units by FY2026 before the new line becomes operational.
Focus on Sustainable Manufacturing
Aligned with Honda’s global vision of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, HMSI is integrating sustainable practices across its operations. These include solar-powered facilities, water conservation measures, and recycling initiatives to ensure environmentally responsible growth.
