Stellantis Announces 12 Jeep and Citroën Launches in India by 2029, Plans ₹4,000 Crore Investment
Chennai, India, October 15, 2026: Stellantis has announced an ambitious growth strategy for India under its FaSTLAne 2030 roadmap, confirming plans to introduce 12 new and updated products across its Jeep and Citroën brands over the next three years. The product offensive will comprise seven all-new models and five major upgrades, backed by fresh investments of approximately ₹4,000 crore.
The upcoming launches will expand Stellantis’ presence across multiple vehicle segments, including B-, C- and D-segment SUVs, an MPV, an A-segment car and a premium pickup. The first product under the new roadmap is scheduled to launch by the second quarter of 2027.
The company said the new strategy marks a shift from establishing its business foundations in India to scaling operations, expanding its customer base and strengthening its competitiveness in the domestic passenger vehicle market.
Stellantis Plans 12 New and Updated Products
Under FaSTLAne 2030, Jeep will introduce five products, while Citroën will account for seven launches. The two brands will follow distinct strategies, with Jeep focusing on the premium SUV segment and Citroën targeting mainstream and higher-volume categories.
Jeep’s upcoming portfolio will build on the brand’s core strengths of off-road capability, distinctive SUV design and authenticity, while expanding its presence across multiple segments with new products and advanced powertrain options.
Citroën, meanwhile, will focus on accessible and differentiated vehicles tailored to Indian customers, emphasising comfort, design and technology to reach a wider audience.
Stellantis has not yet disclosed the names, specifications or individual launch schedules of the upcoming models. Further details will be announced closer to their respective market introductions.
₹4,000 Crore Investment to Support India Expansion
Stellantis plans to invest approximately ₹4,000 crore over the next three years to support its product expansion and business growth in India. The company said its cumulative investment in the country is expected to reach approximately ₹15,000 crore by 2030.
The latest investment builds on more than ₹11,000 crore already committed to India across manufacturing, engineering, software, sourcing and exports.
Stellantis currently operates three manufacturing facilities in the country: Ranjangaon in Maharashtra, and Thiruvallur and Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The company also has engineering and software capabilities in Bengaluru, an information and communications technology (ICT) presence in Hyderabad, and an established domestic supplier ecosystem.
Commenting on the roadmap, Tianshu Xin, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis Asia-Pacific, said India would serve both as a growth market and as an increasingly important capability base for the wider group.
He added that the FaSTLAne 2030 strategy would give the Indian team greater ownership of business decisions, supported by a stronger product launch schedule, a multi-energy powertrain strategy and the country’s manufacturing, engineering, software and sourcing capabilities.
Shailesh Hazela, CEO and Managing Director of Stellantis India, said the company’s focus was shifting towards scaling its operations after building a foundation in the market.
He said the 12 planned launches would broaden the company’s market participation and give Indian customers more choices across vehicle segments and powertrains, supported by increased localisation and a stronger sales and service network.
Multi-Energy Powertrain Strategy for Jeep and Citroën
Stellantis will adopt a multi-energy approach for its future Indian portfolio, with powertrain options spanning internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrids, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and battery-electric vehicles (BEVs).
The company said powertrain decisions would be guided by customer requirements, affordability, regulations, infrastructure readiness and the economics of individual vehicle segments.
The strategy reflects Stellantis’ approach of offering different technologies to suit varied customer needs rather than relying on a single powertrain solution across its portfolio.
However, the company has not confirmed which upcoming Jeep and Citroën models will receive specific engine or electrification options.
Localisation Target Set at 90%
Localisation will remain a central part of Stellantis’ India strategy. The company is targeting localisation levels of 90% across both Jeep and Citroën, wherever commercially and technically viable.
The strategy will draw on India’s manufacturing base, engineering expertise and supplier network to improve competitiveness while strengthening the country’s contribution to Stellantis’ global sourcing operations.
The company also plans to expand access to its products and improve the ownership experience through a larger combined Jeep and Citroën sales and service network. Its Stellantis Brand House format will support expansion into promising Tier-2, Tier-3 and Tier-4 markets where commercially viable.
The expansion will focus on sales reach, service capabilities, parts availability and overall customer experience.
India to Play a Bigger Role in Global Exports
Beyond domestic sales, Stellantis intends to strengthen India’s role as an export hub for its global operations.
The company currently exports vehicles and components from India to approximately 50 countries. Around 95% of the engines and gearboxes manufactured at its Hosur facility are exported.
Under FaSTLAne 2030, Stellantis plans to export India-developed vehicles as part of its Asia-Pacific strategy, serving international markets alongside domestic customers.
Stellantis Targets Growth Through 2030
The announcement comes amid improving business momentum. Stellantis India reported 35% growth in its business in the second quarter of calendar year 2026 compared with the first quarter. Citroën’s retail sales also increased by 68% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the corresponding period in 2025.
With 12 planned product launches, fresh investment, deeper localisation and a broader range of powertrain options, Stellantis aims to increase the presence of Jeep and Citroën across India’s passenger vehicle market.
The FaSTLAne 2030 roadmap will determine how the two brands expand across segments and customer categories over the next three years, with the first new product expected by Q2 2027.
