itel Launches Aqua, India’s First IP67-Rated Feature Phone with AI Noise Cancellation at Rs 1,799

Bengaluru, India, June 3, 2026: itel has unveiled the Aqua, a feature phone that the company claims is India’s only IP67-rated device in the category. Priced at Rs 1,799, the new handset introduces water and dust resistance along with AI-powered Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), bringing premium durability and communication features to the entry-level mobile segment.

The launch marks the debut of itel’s new Inno Series in India, a product lineup focused on combining innovation, durability and practicality for everyday users across urban and rural markets.

Designed for India’s Challenging Conditions

The standout feature of the itel Aqua is its IP67-rated protection against water and dust ingress, a first for India’s feature phone segment according to the company. The device can withstand immersion in water for up to 30 minutes and is designed to endure muddy, wet and dusty environments that often prove challenging for conventional feature phones.

The launch addresses a significant consumer concern identified by itel. According to an internal survey conducted by the company, water damage accounted for 42 percent of feature phone replacements, making it one of the leading causes of device failure among users.

By introducing IP67 protection at an affordable price point, itel aims to offer a more durable alternative for consumers working in demanding environments, including construction sites, factories, agricultural fields and outdoor workplaces.

AI Noise Cancellation Debuts in a Feature Phone

Another major highlight of the Aqua is the inclusion of AI Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), a technology typically associated with smartphones and premium audio devices.

The AI-powered system filters out background noise from busy surroundings such as traffic, industrial zones, marketplaces and construction sites, enabling clearer voice conversations. The feature is designed to improve call quality for both the user and the person on the other end of the call, even in noisy conditions.

With this addition, itel is attempting to redefine expectations in the feature phone category by introducing technologies previously unavailable in the segment.

Part of the New Inno Series

The Aqua serves as the first product under itel’s newly launched Inno Series, which focuses on solving real-world consumer challenges through practical innovation.

Commenting on the launch, Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of itel India, said the company aims to position itself as one of India’s most innovative technology brands by developing products tailored to the country’s unique usage conditions.

According to Talapatra, the Aqua has been designed to perform reliably across India’s diverse climates, ranging from humid coastal regions to dry and dusty desert environments. He added that the device reflects the brand’s commitment to creating meaningful innovations that improve everyday user experiences.

Feature-Rich Despite Affordable Pricing

Beyond its rugged credentials, the Aqua comes equipped with a range of features aimed at enhancing usability. The phone sports a 2.4-inch display, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless FM radio with recording functionality and support for call recording.

The device is powered by a 1200mAh battery and supports modern Type-C charging, a feature increasingly becoming a standard across consumer electronics. Users also get support for up to 32GB of expandable storage and a VGA camera.

The Aqua can store up to 1,000 contacts with icons and offers space for extensive message storage, making it suitable for both personal and business communication needs.

Built for Bharat with Regional Language Support

Targeting users across India’s diverse linguistic landscape, the Aqua supports 10 regional languages. It also includes King Voice, a bilingual voice assistance feature that announces menu prompts, incoming calls and short messages in both English and Hindi.

The multilingual support is expected to make the device more accessible to first-time mobile users and consumers in non-English-speaking regions.

Strong Brand Performance in India

The launch comes amid strong momentum for itel in India’s value-focused mobile market. According to a recent Cyber Media Research (CMR) report on durability, reliability and affordability in India’s device market, itel secured industry-leading scores in both feature phones and smartphones.

The report found that 85 percent of consumers believe the brand offers excellent value for money, while 81 percent associate itel with durability. Additionally, 79 percent appreciated the brand’s design and 74 percent considered it trustworthy and reliable.

Availability and Colours

The itel Aqua is available across retail outlets nationwide in three colour options — Blue, Red and Black. With its combination of rugged durability, AI-powered calling features and affordable pricing, the device aims to set a new benchmark in India’s feature phone segment.
