Mumbai, India, November 2, 2026: Ashok Leyland reported a 23% year-on-year increase in total commercial vehicle sales, including exports, in October 2026, with volumes rising to 21,888 units compared to 17,820 units in the corresponding month last year.

The Hinduja Group flagship’s domestic sales increased 24% to 20,224 units in October 2026, up from 16,314 units in October 2025. The growth was driven primarily by strong demand for Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) trucks, while the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment also maintained positive momentum.

Ashok Leyland’s M&HCV truck sales in the domestic market increased 39% to 11,102 units during October, compared to 7,972 units in the year-ago period. LCV sales grew 13% to 7,578 units against 6,703 units in October 2025.

However, domestic M&HCV bus sales declined 6% to 1,544 units from 1,639 units in the corresponding month last year.

Ashok Leyland M&HCV truck sales drive October growth

Ashok Leyland recorded total domestic M&HCV sales of 12,646 units in October 2026, registering a 32% year-on-year increase over the 9,611 units sold in October 2025.

Within the category, M&HCV truck sales emerged as the biggest contributor, growing 39% to 11,102 units. Cumulative domestic truck sales for the reporting period reached 66,771 units, representing a 34% increase over 49,713 units in the corresponding period last year.

The M&HCV bus segment, meanwhile, recorded sales of 1,544 units, down 6% from 1,639 units in October 2025. Cumulative domestic bus sales also declined 6% to 11,507 units compared to 12,194 units in the previous corresponding period.

The LCV segment continued its growth trajectory, with domestic sales increasing 13% to 7,578 units during October. Cumulative sales in this category rose 20% to 47,823 units from 39,966 units in the year-ago period.

Overall, Ashok Leyland’s cumulative domestic commercial vehicle sales stood at 1,26,101 units, up 24% from 1,01,873 units in the corresponding period last year.

Ashok Leyland exports support overall sales performance

Including exports, Ashok Leyland’s M&HCV truck sales increased 41% year-on-year to 11,613 units in October 2026, compared to 8,257 units in October 2025.

Combined domestic and export sales in the M&HCV category reached 13,927 units, registering 28% growth over the 10,865 units recorded in the corresponding month last year.

M&HCV bus sales, including exports, declined 11% to 2,314 units from 2,608 units. The LCV segment, on the other hand, recorded 14% growth, with sales increasing to 7,961 units compared to 6,955 units in October 2025.

For the cumulative reporting period, Ashok Leyland’s total commercial vehicle sales, including exports, stood at 1,35,328 units, representing a 22% increase over 1,11,174 units in the corresponding period last year.

Cumulative M&HCV sales grew 23% to 85,528 units, with truck sales increasing 35% to 69,368 units. Bus sales declined 12% to 16,160 units, while LCV sales registered 20% growth to reach 49,800 units.

Ashok Leyland’s October 2026 performance highlights the continued strength of its truck business, with M&HCV trucks emerging as the primary growth driver across domestic and export markets. While the bus segment continues to face some pressure, growth in trucks and LCVs has helped the commercial vehicle manufacturer maintain positive sales momentum.
