Bengaluru, October 16, 2026: The battle for the 2026 MECO-FMSCI Indian National Karting Championship RMC India titles reaches its climax this weekend, with the sixth and final round scheduled at the 1.2-kilometre Meco Kartopia circuit in Bengaluru on October 17-18.
With SIDVIN Energy Engineering as the presenting sponsor and MRF Tyres as the partner sponsor, the season finale is expected to deliver intense racing as young drivers compete for national honours and an opportunity to represent India at the international level.
The championship has witnessed several impressive performances since the Indian karting season began in May with the three-round Meritus Cup, which served as a precursor to the national championship.
A total of 64 entries, including approximately 20 drivers from Bengaluru, will compete across four categories: Micro (ages 8-11), Mini (10-13), Junior (12-15) and Senior (above 14).
Rotax Max Grand Finals tickets at stake
The stakes extend beyond the national championship, with the title winners in the Mini, Junior and Senior categories earning tickets to the World Rotax Max Grand Finals.
The international event will take place at the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal from November 7-14, 2026. It will bring together 432 elite racers from more than 60 nations, offering the Indian champions an opportunity to compete against some of the world’s leading karting talent.
The prospect of securing a place at the global event adds further significance to the final round, particularly for drivers seeking to establish themselves on the international karting stage.
Senior and Micro Max championships wide open
The Senior category promises a closely contested battle, with several drivers in contention across a competitive 24-racer grid. The Micro Max category is similarly unpredictable, with different drivers emerging victorious at various rounds this season.
The final weekend will therefore be crucial for competitors looking to convert consistent performances into championship success.
With points on offer in Sunday’s Pre-Finals and Finals, every position could prove decisive in determining the final standings.
Rivaan Dev Preetham leads Junior Max title charge
Chennai’s Rivaan Dev Preetham of MSPORT enters the final round as the leading contender for the Junior Max championship.
The reigning Mini Max champion from 2025 has enjoyed a strong campaign and remains well placed to secure another title. However, he faces a challenge after a difficult fifth round, where he finished sixth in the Pre-Final before taking second place in the Final behind Pune’s Hridaan Sanadhya of Crest Motorsport.
Preetham will aim to return to winning form in Bengaluru and complete his progression through the junior categories with another championship victory.
Nine-year-old Arshi Gupta targets second national title
One of the standout performers of the season has been nine-year-old Arshi Gupta of Leapfrog Racing, who hails from Faridabad.
Gupta dominated the previous two rounds, winning both the Pre-Finals and Finals to emerge as the favourite for the Mini Max championship title. Her recent performances have demonstrated impressive pace, composure and consistency despite her young age.
Having won the Micro Max championship in 2025, Gupta now has the opportunity to add the Mini Max crown to her achievements and secure a second championship title in successive seasons.
Her performances have made her one of the young drivers to watch as the national karting season reaches its conclusion.
Final-round schedule: October 17-18
Saturday, October 17, will feature practice, qualifying and heats, giving drivers their final opportunity to assess their pace and prepare for the decisive races.
Sunday, October 18, will host the two points-scoring races — the Pre-Finals and Finals — which will determine the championship winners across the categories.
With national titles, international opportunities and the season’s final bragging rights on the line, the MECO-FMSCI Indian National Karting Championship RMC India 2026 finale promises an exciting weekend of young racing talent at Meco Kartopia.
