LG to Unveil Next-Generation AI Cabin Platform at CES 2026, Powered by Snapdragon Cockpit Elite

LG Electronics (LG), a global leader in mobility and automotive technologies, is set to introduce its groundbreaking AI Cabin Platform at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, scheduled from January 6–9. Designed to run on advanced automotive high-performance computing (HPC) systems, the new in-vehicle solution leverages generative AI and is powered by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s Snapdragon® Cockpit™ Elite.

LG Showcases the Future of AI-Defined Vehicles

At its exclusive CES 2026 private showcase, LG will present the AI Cabin Platform in a fully integrated digital cockpit. Attendees will also get a first look at the company’s concept of the AI-defined vehicle (AIDV)—a new mobility paradigm that goes beyond today’s software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

This next-gen platform incorporates vision language models (VLMs)large language models (LLMs), and image generation models into LG’s in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system, ushering in a new era of intelligent, context-aware, and highly personalized driving experiences.

On-Device Generative AI for Real-Time, Secure Performance

Leveraging the computing power of Snapdragon Cockpit Elite, all AI processing is handled fully on-device within the vehicle. This eliminates reliance on cloud connectivity, ensuring real-time responsiveness, greater stability, enhanced data security, and improved privacy by removing cloud-related vulnerabilities.

Using input from the vehicle’s internal and external cameras, the AI Cabin Platform can analyze both the driving environment and the driver’s condition. If the system detects a nearby vehicle merging while the driver hasn’t noticed, it can deliver a personalized alert such as: “A car is merging ahead. Please keep your eyes on the road and drive safely.”

Immersive, Adaptive In-Vehicle Experiences

Beyond safety, the AI Cabin Platform also elevates in-car entertainment. The technology can dynamically generate customized infotainment interfaces based on real-time conditions. For instance, if a driver is listening to music during a snowy evening, the platform can create a fitting visual theme—snowfall, streetlights, a festive village—while offering thoughtful suggestions like: “It’s a beautiful snowy night. Shall I recommend some winter-themed songs?”

Strengthening LG–Qualcomm Collaboration

This innovation builds on LG and Qualcomm Technologies’ continued partnership. At CES 2025, the two companies unveiled a high-performance HPC platform integrating IVI and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) using the Snapdragon Ride™ Flex SoC. The solution consolidated multiple vehicle functions into one controller, delivering superior performance alongside improved cost efficiency.

Driving the Future of Intelligent Mobility

“Based on our proven technology and global trust, we will continue expanding partnerships with innovators like Qualcomm Technologies to drive future mobility beyond the SDV to the AIDV,” said Seokhyun Eun, president of the LG Vehicle Solution Company. “With the AI Cabin Platform, we are creating mobility that not only understands drivers, but responds proactively to their needs and preferences, making every journey uniquely personal.”

LG’s AI Cabin Platform will debut at CES 2026, with more details expected during the showcase.
