Nico Hülkenberg to Auction Mexico City GP Helmet for Charity via F1 Authentics

October 30, 2025 — London: Formula 1 driver Nico Hülkenberg is giving fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of F1 history. The German racer has announced the auction of the special edition helmet he wore during the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix, with all proceeds going to support the Hahnair Foundation, a charity that helps women and children living in poverty around the world.

The exclusive helmet, featuring an intricate design inspired by the Piedra del Sol (Aztec Stone of the Sun) and finished with authentic gold leaf detailing, will be auctioned on F1 Authentics, the official home of licensed F1 memorabilia. Previews are now live, and bidding officially opens on November 18, 2025, before closing on December 8, 2025.

A Rare Collector’s Piece

Race-used helmets are among the most sought-after collectibles in motorsport, with many drivers keeping them as personal mementos — making this one-off edition even more valuable. Hülkenberg’s Mexico City GP helmet, worn during one of the most visually striking races of the season, is expected to draw strong interest from fans and collectors alike.

A Milestone Season for Hülkenberg

The 2025 F1 season has been one of Nico Hülkenberg’s most memorable, highlighted by his first-ever Formula 1 podium at the British Grand Prix. Known for his consistency, resilience, and sportsmanship, Hülkenberg continues to be one of the grid’s most respected veterans.

Speaking about the initiative, Hülkenberg said:

“I am delighted to be working with the Hahnair Foundation on this project. The foundation has been committed to improving health facilities and social institutions across the world. This is a great and important initiative, and I’m happy to support it by donating my race-worn helmet from Sunday’s race.”

Supporting a Meaningful Cause

Founded to help women and children break the cycle of poverty, the Hahnair Foundation funds health, education, and social projects worldwide.

Nico Gormsen, Co-Founder of the Foundation, added:

“This collaboration with Nico Hülkenberg is an exciting moment for us. His race-used helmet is not just a collectible — it’s a powerful symbol that will help fund essential health facilities, nurseries, and social programs for those most in need.”
