Momentum from Monza: Verstappen and Red Bull now Eye Glory in Baku

Monza delivered a weekend to remember for Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen as he and the team secured a brilliant win that has injected fresh energy and confidence across the garage. The result was not just about points on the board but also about progress in understanding the car’s setup, with a clear step forward in unlocking the performance we have been aiming for all season.

Reflecting on the Italian Grand Prix, the Dutchman shared how much the victory meant: “Monza was an incredible race for us and we made a good step forward with where we want to be with the setup of the car. The win has been a huge boost for everyone and I have been back at the factory this week to celebrate with the Team, which has been great, and have been on the sim to prepare for the next race.”

That next race takes us to the streets of Baku, where the flyaway rounds resume. Known for its unique mix of tight, low-speed corners and one of the longest straights in Formula 1, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is always a technical and strategic challenge. Getting the balance right is key: “The combination of low-speed corners and the long main straight means you have to find a compromise in the setup, and it is about getting the right rear wing level as well,” the driver explained.

The focus now shifts to maintaining the Monza momentum while adapting to the demanding characteristics of the Baku City Circuit. With strong preparation on the simulator and a clear sense of direction on car setup, the target is clear: carry the positive form into Azerbaijan, deliver a strong Qualifying, and fight once again at the sharp end of the grid.
