Hyundai BAYON India Launch on October 26; SUV to Get Generative AI Voice Assistant

Gurugram, India, October 12, 2026: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has revealed the intelligent technology package of the upcoming Hyundai BAYON, an Intelligent Utility Vehicle (IUV) that will bring generative artificial intelligence (AI), advanced connectivity and software-driven features to Indian customers. The SUV is scheduled to launch in India on October 26, 2026, with bookings open for ₹11,000 through Hyundai’s official website and authorised dealerships.

Developed around the philosophy of ‘Intelligence That Moves’, the Hyundai BAYON will feature HMIL’s first-ever Generative AI Voice Assistant, an NVIDIA-accelerated Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), Vehicle Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) updates and more than 70 Hyundai Bluelink connected features.

The SUV will also feature dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays, embedded voice commands and a multilingual interface, placing digital technology and convenience at the centre of its in-car experience.

Commenting on the upcoming SUV, Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said the BAYON integrates AI, advanced connectivity and software-driven innovation to deliver an intuitive, evolving and personalised mobility experience for Indian customers.

Hyundai BAYON to Feature Generative AI Voice Assistant

One of the key technology highlights of the Hyundai BAYON is its Generative AI Voice Assistant, featuring Intelligence by Perplexity and Voice AI powered by SoundHound AI.

Unlike conventional voice recognition systems that primarily depend on predefined commands, the generative AI-powered assistant is designed to understand conversational requests and provide relevant responses. This allows occupants to interact with the vehicle more naturally while accessing information during their journeys.

The voice assistant is designed to help users plan road trips, obtain weather updates, discover hotels and restaurants, find nearby shopping destinations and access sports coverage, scores and related information.

The integration of AI-powered interactions is intended to make everyday journeys more convenient by reducing reliance on manual searches and conventional infotainment controls.

NVIDIA-Accelerated Connected Car Navigation Cockpit

The Hyundai BAYON will feature the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), accelerated by NVIDIA. The system combines advanced graphics, online navigation, connected services and intuitive controls in a unified digital interface.

The ccNC system will offer onboard online navigation, a personalised quick-control panel, split-screen functionality and smartphone-like quick controls. The interface is designed to make frequently used functions easier to access while delivering a more integrated digital experience.

The cockpit will be complemented by dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays, which bring together driving information, navigation, entertainment and connected functions in a visually cohesive layout. Individual user profiles and personalised controls are also intended to enhance the overall experience.

Hyundai BAYON to Get Over-the-Air Software Updates

Hyundai has equipped the BAYON with a software architecture designed to evolve beyond the point of purchase. The SUV will feature up to 19 controllers capable of receiving Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.

Through Vehicle Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) technology, Hyundai will be able to deliver software enhancements and feature updates remotely. The system is designed to support more efficient feature rollouts, reduce the need for certain workshop visits and enable improvements to vehicle functionality, safety and security.

The technology is intended to keep the BAYON’s connected ecosystem up to date as software and customer requirements evolve.

More Than 70 Hyundai Bluelink Connected Features

The Hyundai BAYON will offer more than 70 connected features through Hyundai Bluelink. The connected-car suite includes remote start and stop, vehicle information, remote vehicle controls, smartphone and smartwatch connectivity, location services, navigation-related functions and safety and security features.

These capabilities are designed to extend the vehicle experience beyond the driver’s seat, allowing owners to interact with their SUV through compatible connected devices.

Hyundai BAYON to Support 12 Languages and 500-plus Voice Commands

With India’s linguistic diversity in mind, Hyundai BAYON will feature a multilingual interface supporting 10 regional languages and two international languages.

The SUV will also offer more than 500 embedded voice commands in English, Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Bengali and Telugu. These commands will allow users to access several frequently used in-car functions without an active internet connection.

The combination of embedded voice recognition and multilingual support is designed to make key vehicle functions easier to access and improve convenience for customers across different regions of India.

Hyundai BAYON Engine and Transmission Options

Powering the Hyundai BAYON will be a four-cylinder, 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque.

The engine will be available with two transmission options: a six-speed manual gearbox and Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The combination is intended to balance performance, refinement, efficiency and everyday usability.

While Hyundai has detailed the BAYON’s engine and technology package, further information on the SUV’s variants, prices and complete equipment list is expected around its market launch.

Hyundai BAYON India Launch Date, Booking Amount and Deliveries

Hyundai Motor India will launch the BAYON on October 26, 2026. Customers can book the upcoming SUV for ₹11,000 through the company’s official website, hyundai.co.in, or at authorised Hyundai dealerships.

Deliveries are scheduled to commence during the festive season, with detailed delivery timelines to be communicated at the time of launch.

With its generative AI voice assistant, connected digital cockpit, OTA update capability and 1.5-litre petrol powertrain, the Hyundai BAYON is set to bring a technology-focused proposition to India’s utility vehicle market. Pricing, variant details and the complete specification sheet will be key factors to watch when the SUV makes its official debut later this month.
