Bengaluru, India, September 18, 2026: Indian motorcycle racer Jagathishree Kumaresan secured a podium finish in the fourth round of the 2026 FIM Asia Women’s Cup of Circuit Racing, held at the Thailand Circuit in Nakhon Chaisi, Thailand.

Representing fmsci as Team India, the Chennai-based rider delivered a consistent performance across the two races on Sunday, finishing third in Race 1 and fourth in Race 2. Her combined results earned her seven championship points and third place in the overall round classification.

Japan’s Ayane Kamakari dominated the round by winning both races, while Korea’s Minchae Kim finished second overall. Jagathishree was the best-placed Indian rider in the seven-nation field, which also featured competitors from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Thailand.

Strong Showing Across Both Races

Jagathishree began the weekend with a third-place finish in the opening 10-lap race. She completed the race in 17:39.782, crossing the finish line 16.723 seconds behind race winner Kamakari.

The Indian rider improved her pace in Race 2, finishing fourth with a time of 17:38.389. She was just 2.452 seconds behind third-placed Philippines rider Maria Graciella Reyes.

The Thailand podium represents another international milestone in Jagathishree’s developing racing career. She had previously represented India in the FIM Asia Women’s Cup in Taiwan.

Jagathishree’s Rise in Indian Motorcycle Racing

Born on 3 June 2004, Jagathishree is a graduate in Archaeology from Madras Christian College. She was introduced to motorcycle racing through One Racing’s training programme on Chennai’s East Coast Road and subsequently trained under experienced coach Mohamed Hanif, Team Principal of One Racing.

She made her racing debut in the Rookies category and created history in 2021 by becoming the first girl to score a podium in the TVS Rookies championship.

Jagathishree went on to win her first two National titles in Girls Stock 165cc circuit racing and National Drag Racing in 2024. She successfully defended the Girls Stock 165cc National Championship in the 2025–26 season, taking her tally to three National championship titles.

Her latest podium in Thailand adds another significant international result to an already growing racing résumé and underlines her progress on the Asian road-racing stage.
