Maruti Suzuki Eeco Crosses 15 Lakh Sales Milestone in India; Star Edition Launched

New Delhi, India, September 2, 2026: Maruti Suzuki Eeco has crossed the landmark 15 lakh cumulative sales milestone in India, reinforcing the model’s position in the country’s van segment. Launched in January 2010 and developed specifically for the Indian market, the Eeco has become a popular mobility solution for families, entrepreneurs, businesses and institutions.

According to Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the Eeco has supported a wide range of requirements over the years, combining space, practicality, versatility and dependability in a single platform.

Eeco Records Fastest-Ever 5 Lakh Sales

The Eeco’s sales momentum has accelerated significantly over the years. The first 5 lakh units took eight years to sell, while the next 5 lakh sales were achieved in less than five years.

The latest 5 lakh Eeco sales have been achieved in just three-and-a-half years, making it the fastest 5 lakh sales milestone in the model’s journey.

Commenting on the achievement, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the 15 lakh sales milestone represents the progress of Eeco customers and the trust they have placed in the van.

Maruti Suzuki highlighted the model’s strong connection with customers across India. Rural markets accounted for 65% of Eeco sales in FY 2025-26, while 55% of customers were first-time buyers and more than 51% were business owners.

The company said the figures underline Eeco’s role not only as a mode of transport but also as an enabler of livelihoods and aspirations.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco Available in 13 Variants

The Eeco portfolio currently spans 13 variants, covering 5-seater and 6-seater passenger versions, Tour V, Ambulance and Cargo models.

Customers can choose between petrol and S-CNG powertrains, allowing the Eeco to cater to applications ranging from family transportation and tourism to cargo movement, small businesses and essential services.

Maruti Suzuki said the Eeco’s ability to address multiple requirements through a single adaptable platform has been central to its enduring appeal.

The company also noted that its Eeco customer base is evolving, with customers becoming younger and moving up the income ladder, while the model continues to bring more customers into four-wheeler ownership.

Eeco S-CNG Sales Share Rises Four-Fold

The latest Eeco is powered by Maruti Suzuki’s 1.2-litre Advanced K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine. The company claims fuel efficiency of 19.71 km/l in petrol and 26.78 km/kg in S-CNG.

The popularity of the S-CNG version has increased substantially over the years. Its contribution to Eeco sales has risen from 12% in FY 2019-20 to 48% in FY 2025-26, representing a four-fold increase in its sales share.
