Bengaluru, India, July 24, 2026: Tata Power has strengthened Karnataka’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure with the commissioning of a 60 kW DC fast charging station at Sri Krishna Cafe, Bannikuppe, strategically located on the Mysore–Madikeri Highway (NH-275). The new EV charging station is expected to improve charging accessibility for electric vehicle users travelling between Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Coorg.

Located along one of Karnataka’s busiest tourism and commercial corridors, the charging station serves as a convenient stop for EV owners heading towards Kodagu (Coorg), allowing them to recharge before entering the region’s hilly terrain.

Tata Power Expands EV Charging Network on NH-275

The newly commissioned facility is equipped with a 60 kW DC dual-gun CCS2 fast charger, enabling compatible electric vehicles to charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. The high-speed charging capability is designed to reduce downtime for travellers undertaking long-distance journeys across Karnataka.

Situated within the premises of Sri Krishna Cafe, the charging station offers motorists an opportunity to relax, enjoy refreshments, and access basic travel amenities while their vehicles are being charged.

Integrated with Tata Power EZ Charge Platform

The new charging station is fully integrated with the Tata Power EZ Charge ecosystem, allowing EV users to locate the charger, check real-time availability, initiate charging sessions, and make cashless payments using the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile application or RFID cards.

The seamless digital integration is aimed at delivering a hassle-free charging experience for both private and commercial EV users travelling along the corridor.

Boosting Sustainable Mobility in Karnataka

The addition of the Bannikuppe charging station further strengthens the Bengaluru–Mysuru–Coorg EV charging corridor, making long-distance electric vehicle travel more convenient for tourists and daily commuters alike.

NH-275 is one of Karnataka’s most important highways, connecting Bengaluru and Mysuru with the popular hill destination of Coorg. The expanded charging infrastructure is expected to encourage greater adoption of electric vehicles by addressing range anxiety on intercity routes.

The deployment also aligns with Tata Power’s ongoing strategy of developing high-capacity green mobility corridors across major highways, economic centres, and tourism routes in South India.
