Formula E GEN4 Car to Make UK Public Debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026

Goodwood, England, June 7, 2026: The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will take centre stage at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed as the all-new GEN4 race car makes its public debut in the United Kingdom from July 9-12. The event will also celebrate Formula E’s technological evolution with GEN1, GEN2 and GEN3 cars taking to the iconic Goodwood Hillclimb alongside the championship’s next-generation challenger.

One of the biggest attractions at this year’s festival will be CUPRA KIRO driver Dan Ticktum, who will pilot the GEN4 Formula E car in front of fans for the first time in the UK. The demonstration marks another milestone ahead of the GEN4 era, which promises faster, more efficient and technologically advanced electric racing.

GEN4 Formula E showcases AI-powered innovation

Formula E will also use the Goodwood Festival of Speed to demonstrate a cutting-edge hybrid artificial intelligence architecture developed with Google Cloud.

During his hillclimb runs, Dan Ticktum’s GEN4 car will process live telemetry, video and audio data entirely on a Google Pixel 10 Pro smartphone, delivering real-time driver coaching through advanced edge computing. The demonstration serves as a proof of concept for how next-generation consumer hardware can support mission-critical engineering operations in high-performance motorsport environments.

The showcase highlights Formula E’s growing role as a platform for developing technologies that could eventually influence future road cars and connected mobility solutions.

Jaguar TCS Racing to unveil its GEN4 challenger

Current Formula E Teams’ Championship leader Jaguar TCS Racing will become the first manufacturer team to publicly demonstrate its GEN4 challenger before official pre-season testing begins later this year in Madrid.

Running in a distinctive test livery, the Jaguar GEN4 prototype will tackle the famous Goodwood Hillclimb on Thursday and Friday. The team is expected to reveal the identity of its driver ahead of the event.

Mahindra Racing returns with Indian representation

Indian manufacturer Mahindra Racing will field its GEN3 Evo M12Electro across all four days of the festival.

Test and Development Driver Chloe Chambers will drive on Thursday and Friday, while Official Reserve Driver Kush Maini takes over on Saturday and Sunday.

A founding Formula E team and the championship’s first manufacturer entrant, Mahindra has already committed to the GEN4 era through 2030, underlining its long-term investment in electric racing.

Jean-Éric Vergne reunites with championship-winning DS Formula E car

Formula E’s only two-time world champion, Jean-Éric Vergne, will reunite with the iconic DS E-Tense FE19 on Friday.

The Frenchman will once again drive the car that delivered both the Drivers’ and Teams’ Championships during the 2018-19 Formula E season with DS TECHEETAH, offering fans a nostalgic glimpse into one of the series’ most successful partnerships.

Formula E GEN4 Ambassador James Rossiter will take over driving duties for the remainder of the weekend.

Lucas di Grassi and Sam Bird revive Formula E’s origins

Fans will also witness Formula E’s remarkable technological journey as veteran stars Lucas di Grassi and Sam Bird drive the championship’s original GEN1 race car.

The demonstrations will provide a striking comparison between the inaugural Formula E machine and the futuristic GEN4 challenger, showcasing more than a decade of rapid innovation in electric motorsport since the championship was founded in 2012.

Goodwood set for Formula E spectacle

With the debut of the GEN4 race car, AI-powered driver coaching demonstrations and appearances from championship-winning drivers and leading manufacturers, Formula E is set to be one of the headline attractions at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The four-day event offers fans a rare opportunity to witness every generation of Formula E machinery in action while getting an early glimpse of the championship’s electrified future.
